Looking at potentially joint PAAS this year.
Any current members on here that can advise as to how busy the lakes get?
Live in Northwich and work Manchester and looking to fish a couple of MW Nights through Spring - Autumn

if your fishing mid week you'll be fine on most lakes I think, weekends however can be chaos, there's alot of carp anglers in the club now.

Like someone said already...weekdays can be quiet,weekends on certain waters are hammered..but that's only comparable to day ticket waters,where its chaos also!
It seems to be certain waters also,so if you are willing to try the quieter waters,you can have lots of peace!

Just the same as the day ticket circus on the better carp waters and be prepared to get fined if your caught 20 ft off your rods talking to someone in the very close next swim like I did .Left the naughty Boys club about 4 years ago not for me .Went to hatchmere 6 times midweek and couldn't get a peg which was the reason I stopped fishing day ticket waters and joined in the first place .The last few years I was a member I just fished the Ribble

Fond memories from about 10 years ago being told by the Bailiff on Sandmere that he was going to root through my bags for banned items e.g. can's, tin's etc. My mate wasn't nearly as accommodating and threatened to throw him in the lake if he touched his bags.
Suffice to say neither of us joined the following year. Don't know if it's any different now but spend a few weeks reading all the rules, there was enough of em.

As said some of the bayliffs can be militant but its generally few and far between.
I have always followed rules. been open and sensible and have only ever been picked up for one thing which was mistaken identity although took some heated discussion at the time to get my point accross.
For the sheer amount of waters its worth it, especially after the first year as its a reduced rate. Stay away from sand and dove at weekend but there is always somewhere else to go.

hows the carp in sand and dove these days have any got faces left ?Seen the worst damage of any fish i have seen anywhere it was upsetting to see it was so bad,fish with no mouths at all and some with just pee holes .

Wasn't impressed with a fair few venues. So many are being ottered and nothing done it's unreal. Again found a few Bayliffs absolute a**holes.
Some lovely low stock lakes that require some serious effort if you have 2-3 nights a week

I notice on their website that you can buy their waters guide for £20 if you're a member. I'm due to join next year and was going to ask them if I can buy it in advance.
Is it worth it though or is the online map sufficient?

You get the Map book free when you join. I've kept my card for £130.00 why wouldn't you with 200 waters to go at across the fishing spectrum. You would always struggle to Otter fence the Meres which are leased

Do they still do an induction you have to attend?. Think it use to be in Macclesfield.

Little opportunity I got go (illness)I enjoyed it.Fished the Isle at Shrewsbury and it is very well run and stunning scenery.Later in year after recover,just did day sessions on a little pool to get me back in the swing of things.This year I will be back to it and putting some serious time in,all the bailiffs I have met have been great

alot of hassle the p.a forum!!!!!!! my advice is the water your thinking of planning a bit of time on is go and have a walk round,members are alot more pleasant than the key board warriors on the p.a forum....

you haven't missed much..a bit of the history of the club, they tell you to read the rules in the licence, bailifs have a speech etc..
I've only fished the isle once,had a couple of fish...lovely place to lose some time....its getting harder and harder...especially it was that prolific at one point that it was days only

No not fished there and we didn't have anything out at the Isle.It had a huge oxygen crash last year and they lost a few fish,it is a lovely water though and I will definitely be going back this year

Lost a serious amount of fish that lake. Ossmere is very nice also just a challenge. Same as Wade

PA is a fantastic club there really is nothing quite like it in the UK. You just have to bear in mind that it is a club, a lot of carpers seem to expect the club to have geared up towards carpers - they don't really do that. I've always found the bailiffs to be spot on in my 7 years in the club. If you do join I will be 99% certain you'll start to consider river fishing. They have so many great stretches of river you're spoilt for choice.
Regarding how busy it is..... The popular waters such as redes and the thorneys will always be busy. Even mid week you'll sometimes struggle to get on. Sand and dove are similar to a slightly lesser extent. Every time ive visited the back lake at Marley tiles it's had either nobody on or just a handful.
For £130 a year it's a bargain just remember it's a club, not a carp orientated limited season ticket venue.

Marley was a fantastic venue 20+yr ago, almost always devoid of anglers and £20 a year.

You've still got loads of choice on there card...I left when a couple of my targets died on Redesmere years back!! Didn't give any thought to the other waters and dropped the ticket it was a mistake for what it costs.
Just need to have a little adventure around them...Ossmere was quiet last year again think they lost a couple of fish!! I wouldn't say the banks are any busier than in the past with the yearly turnover of tickets..

One more thing, when you join the club you can join the facebook page. People will often ask on there how busy a water is before they set off, it's a great system and works well.
