Looking for a set of new alarms...because I fish places wich I fish is range very importand.

It will give far more than youll ever need. All the top end alarms have ridiculous long range now

I'm sure the range is 750m and it had a boost thingy which goes upto something stupid like 900m.

There seems to be this never ending trend of alarms being capable of sending a signal to a receiver further and further away. I never understood this. How far away can you be from your rods before your placing the fish at risk. Personally I doubt I've ever been more than a 10 second sprint away from my rods and that was probably too far.

We all need the trees at some point, but never too far away, happened to me just yesterday (Sunday) got a few small beeps just pulled my zip down.....pulled my zip back up to find I had a good sized roach on the line a fish is a fish when all said and done.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think it was not always about being able to go 100+ yards (or whatever distance) away from your rods.
More about say, being 10-20 yards away from your rods (next swim maybe) where there was thick bankside brush etc. between you and the alarms. ?
Memory serving again..but I think that was why Fox went from the DXR to the LXR as it had better tech giving out a better signal?
Probably could be explained better by someone else but I have never seen any alarm manufacturer having a sales pitch of "Be 200 yards away from you rods".

Exactly this. It's not to do with how far you can be away from your rods, but what's between you and your rods. Amazing what a bit of bush or foliage can do to the signal with some alarms.

Haha I'm no Usain Bolt that's for sure.
Point I'm making is manufacturers do seem to state ever increasing ranges which I don't get, I would get it if they said works through the thickest bracken etc, but they seem to be encouraging or making you think it's okay for you to be a long way from your rods which isn't right imo.

I get your point totally but that is not the manufacturers fault, that is down to the user.
As I said they don't (as far as I have seen) encourage being too far away from your rods.
That's down to education. Some people are easier to educate than others mind.

Lets not muddy the waters here.
It's piece of mind to have an alarm with the best range available. (trees, bushes, weather etc.)
The majority \ sensible don't intend to be stupid range away from their alarms.
Wether or not the manufactures lie about their 'range' is another matter entirely.

Anything more than 3m from your rods and they're unattended. Using a receiver with an alarm is no excuse for leaving rods unattended. Sadly, I see it everywhere I go, with people more than happy to walk off their rods. I know someone who got fined £160 for unattended rods by the EA. He was sitting in the next swim chatting to a mate, around 6m away. The Enforcement Officer got I think it was 5 people that day for the same thing. I always reel in if I am going to be away from rods.

He sounds like a bit of a jobs worth to be honest. We all leave our rods to go to the next swim, or to go and be able to see more of the water. People just use common sense.
What if you drink a lot of water that day and need to piss a lot. I hope you dont piss within 3 metres of your rods.

My understanding was that the angler in question got very aggressive with the EA officer and what should have been a warning ended up in a fine.
I always reel in if I am leaving my rods, even if it's just the next swim. If you need to take a piss and leave your rods, I'd reel in if that meant walking away from my rods, most wouldn't and I get it, next swim or a few yards should be fine, but I am afraid common sense means nothing to most people you meet on the bank. You see them standing in little huddles, often up to 100 yards away from their rods or more. It's a joke on some waters I fish - seeing people running round the lake to get to a run. Absolute knobs in my book.
