Managed to get myself a new frontier X. I was wondering if it was worth getting the peak or wrap at all? Does the vapour peak make that much difference?

Vapour peak good for reducing condensation, wrap will do the same by providing an additional skin but also help retain heat in colder months. I bought the XD last month, the vapour peak and the mozzi infill panel, but will leave the wrap until next year as I won't get many opportunities to get out now until next March.

Peak defiantly worth having ,as said cuts down condensation , plus adds a peak to your bivvy for when it rains

I've got the Frontier X and vapour peak but only got that combination as I won them in a competition. The vapour peak should definitely help with condensation but if I had the option I would go for the overwrap instead especially if you intend to fish through the winter months. I'll be getting one when I can although at £200 it does stick in the throat a bit.

Does anyone know if the overwrap increases the size of the footprint by much? On my old Cyprinus it created a decent sized vestibule area would be useful if the Frontier X wrap did as well.

I was just about to buy the vapour peak until I read this. I do fish all year round, very rarely use a ground sheet and only attach my door if the rain is coming straight in. I'd get both if they weren't so expensive.

I think its £230 for the XD overwrap no wonder there's so many of them still for sale on the bay.
I want one but it does grate that it's the same price as some cheaper bivvies.

Paid €183/ £155 or my XD overwrap.
Where did you find it for that price? Hopefully the X may be even cheaper

The wrap uses the same length pole extension bits that the vapour shield does, so adds about a bit to the front, only dissapointment with the wrap is there are no rear vents in it, so adding it for a longer session etc when you might want some extra airflow is no good

Lack of vents is annoying, now thinking there's very little value in the overwrap and will stick with the vapour peak.
Maybe Fox will see sense and either seriously reduce the price of the wrap or release a v2 version with the vents that should be standard

Has anyone had a problem with the main front that comes with the frontier?
im having problems getting mine to zip back on? Mozzie front goes on fine.

I guess the obvious answer is why would you use a wrap when it's so warm you need the windows open.

It's been said on here many times, but the only way to stop condensation is to have the front of the shelter completely open so that the air temp inside is the same as the air temp outside. No infill, no wrap, no kettle boiling inside and no condensation. You also save £xxx's and have less to carry.
No doubt that will work but on my old Cyprinus I had it zipped up tight with the overwrap and never suffered with condensation either!

Having the front completely of don't stop condensation at all I was out the weekend in my hide xl camo pro with no front on it and still had condensation on the inside

Obvious answer for me is on a longer session to give you more space, plenty of times I have used an overwrap in the summer to give more space on longer session or French trips, and vents on the overwrap and bivvy have been opened,

Got another niggle with Fox, why do they make the bag for the vapour peak such a snug fit? You've got to be an origami ninja to get the thing back in the bloody bag. It's just penny pinching to the extreme

That's what I have done, it's just annoying that they've gone to the trouble of making a bag but its useless once you've taken the peak out.

Undo the side velcros so they are only just connected. Take out the front 3 pegs and fold back over the centre. Release centre arm then the 2 outers from the boss. Fold carefully as normal
Exactly the same way you fold a Tempest with a skull cap attached
