I'm preparing to move house and found quite a lot of old fishing magazines. Rather than throwing them away, I might give eBay a try. Seems a waste not passing them on to someone who might treasure them. Anyone know the kind of prices they fetch? Got some early editions, e.g. Carp World 1 & 2 and Big Carp 1 &2, shown below. A quick look on ebay and anything from 80p for 2 copies to 4.99 with free postage for others.There is not many with bids on though you might get some luck putting them on as a job lot

If you put them on e bay with a fairly long bidding time they will reach market level. You generally get a higher price if you can post as it opens the market a lot wider.

The problem now is people would rather watch videos or sit reading it on their tablet/phones than reading mags

Yes, storage not a problem. Deterioration none existant. 100% transportable. Who needs paper copy? Even if it is much more enjoyable to read. I'd rather read a book than a Kindle. However it's just not so practice. Unless there is a power cut. Yes I am old enough to remember the 4 day week and powercuts . don't pooh pooh the idea that it may happen again and soon.

But a magazine or book is tangible - hence why people still like catalogues and brochures. I saw a copy of Carp World #1 go for £50 on eBay and would say that Big Carp issue one could be worth more. At the end of the day, these things are worth what people will pay. Just take the madness of late with old Solar stuff on eBay as a good example of that. Me? My iPads don't come fishing with me, as I'm fishing... these guys who sit there all day watching media content on tablets or phones, make me wonder why they go fishing at all

I dont think I mentioned being on the bank,whilst reading or watching phone/tablet

keep them, better than reading the same **** in nowadays mags. early big carps are worth the read for zen and raels hare field adventures.

big carp 1 is worth more with the free Ritchie Mac hooks still attached to the cover.

Sold nearly all mine a few years ago

If memory serves me right I sold the BCs and some carpworlds individually and the rest in batches of 3-4 upto what you could post via Royal Mail (2kg)

They all sold.

The first couple of issues of Carp Addict went for high prices and so did the BC around 50-60 when it relaunched with the like of Hearn and Shelley in it.

There was a little mag / fanzine that came out after Subsurface. I can't remember it's name now but for the 5 issues it lasted I got £80+ on ebay. Crazy really!!!

I've seen some of the recent BCSG mags go for crazy money too. £80-90 for the recent anniversary editions.

I've kept the first 15-20 editions of Big Carp. Simply the best that I can't let go of.

Having lost my original copies of Carpworld 1, 2 and 3 in a house move I bought them ago off of eBay. I paid around £5 for all three.

Remember them A5 size mags.
Wasn't he the guy behind those internet LOL Korda spoof animations using cartoon characters that ended up in legal action?

They started of Free. He then started charging for them. Sure I picked them up from me local tackleshop ( remember them. )

Believe they were available at a small charge direct from him after that. There weren't many issues.

Remember the Korda bashing animated stuff. Didnt realise it ended in legal action..
