I am changing my gear around now mainly river fishing where pegs / swims are nothing like the big level ones on lakes
so after selling one of my big session bivvies
I ordered a new compact shelter the Solar undercover brolly system
and have found out they dont make a groundsheet for it ? despite it being advertised as a brolly SYSTEM ?
I had just thought when I could not see one advertised it was a simple out of stock supply problem !

soooo
as I ALWAYS use a groundsheet I will have to source something to make a groundsheet with any suggestions please folks ?

I bought one for my AXS about 39 quid when he was doing deals last year
Its not custom made more rectangular 2500 x 1500mm but is big enough for my needs

I believe he will make to a custom shape

If camo is your thing its great and rolls up/folds up fine and is nice and thick

Is it to cover the whole footprint or just the bed chair ? I've got one just for the bed chair that I use in the winter months .

and I ALWAYS use a groundsheet apart from day sessions as I am a bit of a barefoot person I get hot feet and normally just have crocs or more recently Navitas Weaves to slip in to they have so much more grip so like a full proper groundsheet

Heavy duty tarpaulin/groudsheet search from Ebay, I believe there are even ripstop type ones you can cut to shape without fraying going by the camping forums
We used a HD tarp on our last big tent, better quality than the ones supplied for the tent and cheaper too.

Have a look at Sundance's posts HERE, I made one for my Tempest v2 and use it instead of the supplied one as it's lighter and easier to fold up

Nice to see that mate. Cheaper lighter and less holes on stony ground I've found. A decent trakker or aqua will be a bit softer and more pliable but isn't tough enough for South London pegs.

Cheaper lighter tarps will do the job But I have had a few shelters where they tend to sell them with a tarp type groundsheet and after a while they tend to let the water through, THESE look decent but costly for what it is should imagine adds a bit of weight

I have changed my mind I have a super lightweight sheet that would be fine for overnight short sessions but decided to get a nicer one for longer sessions I only fish where I can park behind the swim so weights not a problem really

TBH its free delivery and one much bigger than needed 6ft x 10ft is only £29.99 600gsm so proper quality I will do it the way Sundance did it

depends on the size of your bivvy

mine is 264cm x 150cm = 8.6 ft x 4.9ft

I reckon it will be ok. Had a look at the other thread where Sundance used a smaller size as a 3/4 groundsheet, so hopefully the slightly larger will do me.
For single nights (short sesh carp or barbel, flask and butties, no cooking) i just use a regular 50" brolly and a chair, if longer visit (with bedchair) i take a small korum oval with sides and no g/s.
2 nights or more i take my fox evolution and id then like a groundsheet from sept to april.
