Looking to get a set 12ft 3.25tc century ADV1's...

Absolutely love mine. Bought them to replace my 3.25 torrix and they are similar (someone told me I was wrong when I mentioned that, but I remember speaking to century and they advised that the ADV1 were the closest match to the torrix)

As soon as my set of Torrix being built is back (should be next week) I will be adding my set of ADV1 Stealth 12ft 3.5lb to the classifieds.

Echo what has been said, in 3 1/4 test not far off a good all round carp rod

Maybe is mate, 3.25 for me when I can find a good set 2nd hand.

My buy them new I was that impressed.

I would say so, bit of a power tool

I'm sure blankasaurous on here has some or tried some, remember reading a post of his?

My 3.5's are a nice rod, good bit of power without being totally like a poker. Have used for singles straight through on 15lb line to 140yds and I'm not the biggest caster, and good for bags to 100yds without too much effort.
They are classed as a medium rod however, and not an out and out casting tool.

140 with 15lb straight through with rig and bait is good so why sell them and keep the torrix, having own 12ft 3.25tc torrix myself I never saw why they were so popular and felt the 12ft6inch te is a far superior rod both to cast and play fish.

Waters I am fishing now don't need long casts, and I have held the Torrix for a few years without using them as I only had a pair. Now had a 3rd made and had the cork removed and all changed to full shrink which is my personal favourite.
When I need to cast long again I will treat myself to a custom set of proper distance rods like the Aviator Plus etc. To keep long term.

As I remember we discussed I really wanted a set of the Baby Snipers, but unfortunately was too late and was unable to get a set before Kev Baines retired.

I've been through the many stages of wanting to change gear, and am now finding things that work and are worth paying that but extra for.

Baby sniper is very different to torrix 3.25tc, trouble with rods I feel you need to know exactly what you are looking for and rarely get to test them properly without buying them. As you know the build also changes the way a rod performs and feels so if going custom you need to know how your chosen build will change it from the standard factory build.

From what we discussed the Baby Sniper was what I was looking for, a rod that can cast a good distance but bends its arse off with a fish on the end of it.

Aren't the Sniper and Baby Sniper built on different blanks?
