Im looking to change my mainline and have narrowed it down to these three. Has anyone used all three and how do they compare. Are the more expensive two worth twice the money of the hyper sensor? Lots of people seem to rate the XT synchro but I cant find much on the Exocet on here. Has anyone used Exocet and had a good experience with it?

Have used all three, exocet and hyper sensor are prestretched hence they are thinner for the same breaking stain as the synchro. This makes them better for distance casting but they don't sink as well, neither are they as abrasion resistant.
If distance isn't an issue I would go for the synchro, if it is go for one of the others.

Synchro is good stuff I use the non loaded in 15lb been very happy with it from edge fishing to 130 yards out can't fault it 👍🏼

Cheers that's helpful. Is the Exocet much less visible in the water than the others?. What colour synchro XT would you suggest?

I would say visibility is roughly the same between all three, perhaps the hyper sensor slightly darker in the original, not used newer gunmetal.

I didn't like Hyper Sensor so I binned it, and reverted back to normal Sensor.

Not a fan those either. People rave about cm90 but I found the abrasion resistance not very good when compared to my favourite gr60 which is a shame as other than that I was very impressed with it

To be fair even though its breaking strains are massively under rated I don't think that there's a readily available line that comes close to GR60 in terms of abrasion but obviously not tried everything on the market.

I thought that too, but come across asso hardskin, it's seriously abrasion resistant but really doesn't cast well at all. I use it on my catfish reels as that's mostly close range stuff so makes no difference . Might be different in lower strains as I use 30lb on those

The HydroTuff beats it for abrasion resistance. Both great lines. Even the cheapo Gardner Pro is brilliant.

It was mate, bloody good stuff. I did get a spool a few years back and it was for awful stuff so I'm assuming it's changed from back then. Interesting you say hydro tuff beats gr for abrasion resistance, I've not actually compared the 2

berkley dont sell rubbish its fallen well out of fashion/favour as other lines may well be better behaved or have a better colour (id put sensor in this group as well)
but if you had to pick a line for brute reliability in the 15lb+ bracket you could put your house on it (and tow it)
think about how many fish have been landed over the years on it.
ive just finished the last if the CM70 i had decent line but is it a huge leap forward over BG i dont know.
the other old school line i remember that was a cut above which was suffix synergy (ESP synchro looks and feels like this)
but it cost the earth at the time.

Go for the syncro in 15 or 18lb Alex and you won't go far wrong. Fantastic all round mono. Don't get caught up worrying about the colour, I honestly don't think it makes the blindest difference.
Check the last 10-15 ft regularly and cut back as required to make sure you're not fishing with damaged line.
Replace once a year

Right guys had most lines like most anglers , I only use esp syncro in .37mm but until recently I've been having a lot of birds nests on the cast , I'm putting it down to wrapping it up around 20 wraps which isn't that far , but the birds nests have been horrendous, I was thinking after I've wrapped to do a little dummy cast to take the twists out .
Anyone else had this ??

Yeah I think I'll go with the synchro in 15lb. I made a stupid mistake of getting 25lb sensor because I didn't know any better at the time. It's got to be better than that. It's like casting a washing line!

15lb synchro will be a dream compared to 25lb sensor!
BTW sensor in 15lb (brown) is a perfectly good line - I used it for years. The synchro is definitely superior mind.

In what way is it superior? Do you rate synchro over CM90? I wish I could buy a bunch of these to try out but they all come in 1000m spools at £20 each! I would be bankrupt before long

The synchro is a lot more supple than the sensor. Easier to manage, and casts better.
Honestly - get the synchro in 15lb you wont be disappointed.

Yes. Twice if you use backing line to start with so you only put 150m of your chosen line on each spool

If you have another spool of the reel your putting your line on then a neat trick is to reel on as much line you think you'll need onto the spool, then cut off and tie a simple back to back grinner (it doesn't really matter anyways as you should judge it to have a little line over from what you think you'll use jus in case) and then wind on the backing until it reaches the spool lip. Then cut off and then reel on the line from the spool onto an empty spool on the same reel and you should have the perfect amount of backing and fishing line. Hope this helps.

I will second this, for the time I have used it I have found it is a great line, casts well, sinks well and from what ive heard has good abrasion resistance and knot strength. What else could you want from a line?

I'm a massive fan of shimano tech but couldn't get any so given the synchro a try. I still prefer the tech but this is a close second
