Bit of a weird one. But I'm looking to get one of the electric toothbrush. Do any of you guys use them ? And are thay any good ? And what one to buy ? As I've not used one before. Dentist has said to get one but not said what to get and I always feel thay won't to sell Me an expensive one for no reason

I used a manual toothbrush but instead of flossing after I finish off with one of these , it's surprising how many small particles it removes.

To try them out just get a cheap oral b one.Some people love them some don't,I have one and so does my wife and kids.I could never go back to a manual brush now

Trust your dentist mate. They know what they're talking about and your teeth are worth looking after.

You'd pay a bit extra for a carp Rod if you knew it was quality wouldn't you?

Oral B do a good range and most dentists happily endorse their stuff

My missus worked for 32 years as a Practice Manager in a very busy surgery in Cornwall...seven dentists, two hygienists, ten nurses and auxilary stff. Since the electric toothbrush became widley available every single dentist in that practice recommends an electric toothbrush rather than a manual one. I doubt there are many that suggest a manual brush these days. The problem with a manual brush is that most users invariably brush too hard, which will in time push the gum away from the tooth, exposing its pulp. (Google 'gum recession'.)

Have you joined just to plug electric toothbrushes?

I got one a few years back, after the first use you can really feel the difference in how mych cleaner your teeth are. Even after being out on the bank a few days with a manual one, and brushing them with the elctric when i get home, the diffence is amazing

I've been using a Phillips Sonicare for what must be near 2 decades, I'd never go back to a manual brush but always have 1 jic. In that time I've had 2 or 3 mid range Phillips, I tend to keep mine regularly charged. I like Sonicares because they are relatively quiet and last.
The Mrs on the other hand has Oral B's and in comparison they are very noisy. She also tends to forget to charge hers regularly and I assume as a consequence the batteries fail every couple of years.

I've always been lucky with my teeth. No filling or anything. Always use to use a normal brush. But since using my electric toothbrush my teeth seem to be a lot better and cleaner. Even my hygienist at the dentist sead that my teeth seem to be a lot cleaner
