Hope everyone is well?

I have an original tracker tempest brolly (about 5years old) and most excellent it is. It is so good that I would like to “winterise” by getting an overwrap extension preferably or front for it at the least.

I know that there has been quite a lot in the past on this, but what is current thinking on the best (and most cost efficient) solution for this older model?

Contact andy marshall on here user name carpy0600 he can make you a full zip waterproof infill front for the brolly you will need to send the brolly to him to make it his based in sittingbourne kent .Also the v2 , brolly 100 overwrap will fit also if you can get the utility front for it look on eBay. Andy can join both the overwrap and utility front together so it's one complete overwrap . Or Trakker are going to be releasing a social cap for the the brolly 100 which will also fit your v1 tempest brolly look on Trakker website . Or Cyprinus tackle do the v1 overwrap look on their website

Think I heard somewhere if you want Andy to make a infill panel for a trakker you'll have to send him one to start of with. Something to do with the zips trakker use.

Andy just needs to be sent the main shelter material he would have a template made up to copy from the amount of them his made he makes the infill front from stratch he stitches a zip to the shelter material that's why he needs the main shelter material to be sent to him

Does anyone know how easy Cyprinus are to deal with?

Very easy mate to deal with... I too have a v1 tempest brolly, I got the cyprinus dpm winter skin that fits the v1 tempest brolly...
I did double check with cyprinus first and they were quick to confirm all would be good.

I had a discount code from them as well so think it was 140 quid... Fits well and decent feel to the material 😊

Also have a trakker utility front for France trips or when my youngest comes with me...

I would suggest having a look at the auctions on their website. Plenty of bargains to be had .

I've got the cyprinus wrap fits perfect and got it for £31 also got the trakker v2 utility front that fits spot on as well

Thanks all - very helpfull. I've emailed cyprinus and they don't think that their stuff is compatible with an original tempest. Were the first tempests known as V1's? mine doesn't have vents for example.

Yes v1 mate... It will tell you on the cyprinus website which winterskins will fit which version of the tempest brolly😊

I got one off cyprinus last year for my V1 and it worked great.

I think its the same as a V2 in terms of footprint so keep a eye out for one of them as well.

is the utility front pretty stable? i fish some quite exposed places, wouldn't want to chase it along the bank in the middle of the night!

Yep utility front stable if pegged down... I fish a 40 acre pit and it can be very windy on there... No issues at all with the front moving even in gale force winds...
Also fish big lakes in France for a week again tempest and front up to the job...
