Gents,
I'd like to connect my Deeper Chirp and Fishspy to one of my Spod rods on a quick change basis.
I was thinking 50lb braid mainline to a 12 inch 50lb wire trace with a snap link.
Then on both the Deeper Chirp and Fishspy I have a 6 inch 50lb wire trace looped connection to the device but then an ordinary size 8 swivel at the other end which in both cases connects to the snaplink swivel pictured.
Only question is will the snap link swivel cope with the stress of the cast and not break? Suggests 19kg test on the swivel so you would have though this would work?

Maybe use a sea fishing type swivel, they take the force of 6-8oz of lead being pendulum cast 200 + yards. (Not by me, by the way).

Look at Berkeley swivels in the larger sizes. Not cheap but will do the job.

50lb Braided leader, big figure of 8 loop, Deeper on, do what you need to do, change it for a spod/spomb job done....
....no need for any extra metal or traces at all...

It's not uncommon for pike to go for these, if you have a rod just for these I'd stick with the snap tackle idea
I'll get a deeper at some point, and will fir it on a trace and then loop that on and off

HI - i use the Gemini link clips (sea fishing) they are designed to attached big leads to leader for beach casting and will more than cope with the strain of a deeper etc. Have one on my spod rod for changing between deeper and spombs.

I've been doing it like this for years, never had a problem so don't know why you would need a wire trace?

I fish a lake with a big head of Pike and have never had one go after my Deeper.....
......Marker float yes but never a Deeper.

Personally I'm not that worried about the Pike there's a few in but I am more worried about the Cat's that are in excess of 50lb. If one of those decides to have a pop at my deeper I'm not sure the braid would be up to it.
I've found a 4 set of 6 inch, 50lb wire trace with snap link swivel rated to 25kg for a tenner, so I will probably go that route tbh.

100% definitely never heard of a Cat going for a Deeper.....
Go with what you feel better with mate, at the end of the day it is over £100 worth of tech you are chucking in the drink so whatever you feel more secure with...

That's the problem mate, £250 for the deeper, £60 for the Fishspy, it's pricey stuff to loose and probably just being over cautious.

Use a pike lure wire trace and get one of the bigger sea fishing snap lock swivel that is what I use when casting a deeper out
