Due to a club having a ban on braided hook links, I'm looking for a mono to use as a hook link. I have tried Daiwa sensor, subline, soft steel and rmtec fluoro in various breaking strains as that is what I have laying around, but they all lack one of the qualities I desire.
I am looking for something as supple as the above, but that can be pulled straight rather than needing to steam, In the past I have also used fluoros like Iq2 and soft ghost and they were a little too stiff for my current situation.
If anyone can offer some suggestions I would be very grateful.

Have the same issue, obviously it's not the hoards of match anglers using 4lb line damaging fish it's the 6 carp boys using a product designed years ago for the purpose of hook links 🙄. I settled on ghost soft.

Frog hair copolymer?
Obviously not so supple as braid but it's sold for fly fishing so relatively soft and strong for its diameter

I use mono most of the time and have used Maxima, Catana, Technium and Amnesia. I'm currently using Amnesia in 12lb bs, really nice to knot and plenty tough enough for my needs.

Must admit I hadn't considered amnesia, I used it years ago and kind of forgot about it, might give that another look.
Do any of the suggestions straighten without the need for steam, I don't drink hot drinks so would prefer not to bring a kettle just for straightening rigs, yes I could do it at home but I'd prefer not to.

I have used 12lb green big game in the past and found it really good.
How are you guys finishing off your mono hooklenghts.
A knotless knot and mono hair isnt really suitable for riggy fish so whats the best option?
I have seen a few videos showing a D rig made by blo bing the tag end and then another loop of mono (again blobbed) to create a non tangle hinge.

Could cut Anne blob what would be the hair, add a hook stop and hook bait ring swivel to the hook shank for tying a bait on blowback style?

Why don't you think a mono hair will work on riggy carp any less than anything else?
A hair kicked out at 90° catches well at times, as will a hair tied on the inside of the shank to cause the hook to flip.

I have caught on simple knotless knot and mono hair but i have also fished more pressured "runs" waters and had several rod knocks that i was thinking must be liners but then at midnight i swapped both rods onto normal supple braid and had 10 fish by first light.
I wouldnt have believed it if someone had told me.
The video i posted the link for in post #11 shows an interesting mono rig that takes a d rig and adds loads of movement. Looks worth a try.

I used Amnesia as a hooklink a fair a fair bit to combat crays. I also used 15lb P-Line Floroclear as a hooklink, it was the remainder from filling the spools.
The Floroclear is pretty much invisible underwater, as it is a fluorocarbon coated co-polymer.
Slightly stiffer than standard mono.

Be careful when using a knotless knot with an in turned eye hook. It can create a weakness where the mono exits the eye ..

I quite like Gardner Trick Link in the Silt version. Knots well, sinks well and can be pulled straight. I use it for D-Rigs.
Back in the day I used green Big Game - even for the hair, worked a treat.
