Evening gents
I currently have the smart iptv app on my Samsung TV and untill. Last couple of days it's worked Lovley. But now it don't seem to want to open and causes the TV to turn off and back on.

I'm thinking of maybe going down the fire stick route is it a simple as plug and play?
What's the best stick to get?
Do they need updates? I don't have a pc!

And dose any 1 know any good subscriptions to use?
And they they best connected via ethernet cable or they work. Fine via WiFi

Hi Bradley , first off , it's as simple as plug and play once you've set it up , the fella I'll recommend to you will talk you through it .

In my opinion you need the 4K fire stick , which you'll get from him .

They do need updates now and then , maybe every six months to a year but you just go to settings and click update , it's that easy .

No need for Ethernet cable , they work fine on WiFi , maybe get a little glitch now and then but nothing to worry about

Sorry to hijack your post james007pond, but not really having a clue with latest tv tech, but what do you get with with iptv or a firestick?
I've got the usual subscriptions, Amazon, netflix, now and disney+ for the kids.
Do they have these things on there as it could work out cheaper to buy one instead of the monthly price (now they're putting the price up as well!).
Is there movie channels?
I had a kodi box which was good whilst it lasted but the channels kept getting shut down!
Sorry for the questions but I'm a complete noob with this 😂

hiya mate

i think it depends on the streaming source for your iptv as to what you get

i have a firestick based one and get all the Sky and BT sport channels (plus a few extras) Sky Movies, news channels, foreign based channels, all the terrestrial tv channels etc.

i also get some extra streamed content in terms of movies (historic and current cinema releases - watched Tenet this week and it hurt my head! ). I get box sets of tv shows (again, historic and current). new stuff is added automatically.

so - there is some crossover with Netflix / Amazon / Now TV and Disney+. maybe not ALL the content from these, but more than enough.

Mine occasionally updates and some channels / content changes. Occasionally get glitches. but compared to the huge cost of the alternatives, I am more than happy

I've got Plusnet but my IPTV provider says Sky have blocked it unless you get around it with various things that I haven't had need to look into.

I've got loads of content but only watch a few things but what Mal's says is correct there's more than enough for most people especially when you consider it costs approx £50 a year.

Been a tight **** I have an old TV. I can't get the stick to fit in due to the position of the mounting bracket, to be fair, can't be arsed to mess about with it

Alot of the app based iptv that used to work(some still do)on android and ios are stopping working
broadband providors are managing to block it nowadays hence the vpn

im not a techy so this is my take on communication given to me from the provider i use

i use an iptv service and need a vpn at times
i use ultimate tv and been great over last year

Hoping this is on topic, help needed here also.

I have a now TV Box with a Sky Sports subscrition, I also use it to watch the various players.
I also have Amazon Prime and BT sports which I presently stream from a laptop.

Is there a way to get all these on 1 stick, my TV only has 1 HDMI port and changing it around all the time is doing my head in, that and constantly having to log in on the lap top?

You can certainly get Amazon Prime it's one of the main features of a firestick.
Last time I looked you could get BT TV on a firestick but not BT Sport. I did read BT Sport would be coming to the firestick but I don't know if that's happened yet.
