Really like the look of the Rod Lockers and think they will be very useful for me in certain swims on my syndi next year.....only thing stopping me taking the plunge at the moment is that i use full duplon handles and dont want ridges in them because of the elastics.....
Anyone else use them with Duplon? Appreciate i could set the elastics looser but that pretty much defeats the point!

Have them pointing towards the alarms,you can then wrap the cord around your reel seat.This is how I have got mine set up and they work perfectly

Thought that mate and will give it a try...
...if there is enough room between the central bankstick and the butt of the reel, (should be....just i think).

Can't recall the last time I had a screamer at 3am so remembering anything will be a challenge.....

I used the rod lockers for the first time a few weeks back on my duplon rod handles, and I do have them set pretty tight, as like you suggest, if they're slack, what's the point?
I did notice by the end of this short day session that there was a slight line mark in the duplon, so in future I will be positioning the rods further back so the elastic wraps around the threads on my reel seats.

Does that bright line make any difference to your catch rate? Just wondering. I like to fish tight lines so the fish can avoid the line and not spook like I've seen them if they can't see it and it touches their bodies 🧐

The line is 16lb Daiwa Justron in fluro yellow.
That particular session I was only out for 8hrs, I had 2 x 20's and lost another so I really don't think it makes an ounce of difference what colour your line is.
What did surprise me was it was much more visible where it intersected with the water when I was playing a fish, which was a definite plus when you're as blind as a bat like me 👍

No difference at all on this particular session with two good carp in a short session. Possibly due to it being nailed to the bed and my using a good 4ft 45lb non leadcore camo leader at the end.

Use the Nash Butt Locks - way better and haven't marked up the duplon handles on any of my rods. Brilliant rear rests when you need extra security.

I use similar coloured braid when chucking lures about albeit that's followed by 2 foot of fluoro then 6i inches of wire twice - the bright colour just makes it easy to see where the lure has gone though I think I'd need 😎 on for that set up below - though each to there own, liking the grass like matt bet it works well 👍🏼

The grass mat does work well and replaced a Nash table mat which didn't. Yes sod all this black gear gimme a bit of bling any day of the week 🤣

Cygnet pivot arms and the bobbins were custom made by some chap on ebay, not expensive, I think they were £20 for three 👍
