Have you got a magnetic aerial with it? If so, stick it on your barrow, I used to have a similar model and it wouldn't work otherwise

I don't have that model but one from maplins (before they went under) what I've found is tune them in at home first , buy a camping areal or the type that looks like an old style house aireal but a lot smaller then get a portable signal booster or even a house one that runs on 5v or 12v it will work then

I'll try attaching it to something see if that does the trick I've got the normal pull aerial and the magnetic one am I searching for the channels I'm dtv mode ?

I've bought a aerial from curry's today so I'll give that a play with tomorrow see if I can set it up

Still think you'll need a booster have a look at item no 333251459299 on eBay sadly I can't do picture's on here unless Currys do one

am I searching for the channels I'm dtv mode ? YES ! DTV is digital
and that tv does Analogue too but thats switched off now so ONLY scan for DTV (Digital television)

A booster makes a big difference if your not to close to the transmitter, I had a Nextbase TV with a boosted aerial years ago, the best you could get at the time.
Don't waste your time with Curry's, absolute ****ers and **** products, buy from a truckers or camping shop, much better brands.
As stated make sure it has a magnetic base and stick it on the barrow.
Tuning in at home is pointless if where you fish is covered by a different transmitter so only do it down the lake.
PS: for the price of the tv you could probably get a data only sim to watch tv/sky on a pad for a year??

try home tv ariel first if works ....

I used to use a signal booster that took 2x AA batteries and attached the portable aerial to the top of a made up rod with velco straps and propped it up against the bivvy, usually got a really good signal, not doing more than 24 hours these days so go as light as possible and havent used the tv in a couple of years - I think the signal is a lot stronger now a days.

I have this one it just sits on top of bivvy and have never been anywhere and been unable to get a signal and watch TV

Look at these Necvox I highly recommend used one for years , I fish a 70 acre ressi set in a valley with rolling hills and swims set back in a wooded area , never failed to get a signal ,as someone else has mentioned attach to side of barrow...

After seeing your recommendation for the TV Aerial it got me thinking I have a unused small portable TV in my caravan and I thought be good in the kitchen and so I will take a gamble and buy one of those
and I got one for £8.95 delivered it came today put the tv in my kitchen plugged the little marvel into it did a scan and got all the freeview channels straight away all 100% perfect
I have to be honest when this tiny aerial came ( it looked so much bigger in the advert picture )
I thought oh bollox this tiny thing isnt going to work but gosh and golly I could not be more wrong !!! bloody outstanding now I got TV in my kitchen big smile

I've added a booster as post 8 to mine for the weaker signal areas. Found the aerial works great in strong signal areas so interested to add the booster in weaker areas.

well as below bought mine for the kitchen TV and the tiny aerial just sits on the window sill
I did a scan and got every channel its flawless I am amazed but I guess maybe if you were using it on the bank would make sense to get one of those little boosters in case

We like a few weekends camping as a family and yes while at home all is well however those aerials whilst better than others I have tried when camping and being rural do not pick up every channel and are hit and miss depending on signal which is why I'm going to try the booster.
That said these little aerials are nice and compact and are far better than anything else I've tried and I've tried a few over the years.

Og it's brill isn't it I travel all over the place and sometimes in areas you wouldn't think it would work but it does .As I said I have never been anywhere it hasn't worked and with the added bonus of being so small it fits in the TV case pocket

I've just ordered one worth a go for a tenner , definitely less bulky than what I carry now , I'll try it with my existing signal booster when outside

Mine arrived today Gerry got to admit when the postie handed me the box I thought hmmmm (it's about the same size as cigarette box but double thickness) , so rather than try it on the house tv thought I'd try it on my fishing tv purchased from maplins several year's ago. Downstairs without the signal booster nothing with signal booster again from maplins about 75% of channels. So upstairs sat it on the window sill (that faces the signal direction)with booster and I've got the lot so I just thought I'd try it without and it still works.So I then tried a re-scan and it found the lot.Outside which is what I want it for again 100% So yes very impressed with it ,some of the venues I fish I'm under tree's so I think I'll need the booster then and may need to get it up high in the bivvy. I will to be on the safe side at first take this and my original ariel but I think I'll be fine with the new one

i have used it completely enclosed with trees and it still works i do sit it on top of bivvy though and thread cable through the top (letterbox door) as the cable isnt that long.You watch sods law i wont get a signal on my next trip after shouting my mouth off.

Hopefully it will work for me too under the trees, it will be the test when there covered in leaves. I've visited the manufacturer's web site and they do the same one but with a built-in booster too power's from a usb

I'm the same defiantly a iPad for me cant for the life of me seeing the point in taking a portable tv fishing with me, can't even believe this is a thing 🤣 the amount of stuff people take is crazy lol MAYBE I'd want one for a 2 week session in France

Well to be honest I can see if your fishing a hard lake with these long dark winters nights watching a small tv whiles away the time and nothing wrong with that done myself for years in the past and dont eat data
but now as I mainly fish the river there is no chance

Bought one of those aerials so could set a TV up in the outdoor kitchen, doesn't work

You could try one of these its USB so when on the bank you cam use a power pack and indoors a mains USB plug
