As there seems to be a shortage of all sorts of Tackle out there at the moment. And having no luck in sourcing a groundsheet for me Tempest brolly I have thought about making one. Not willing to wait for the slow boat from China..

It cant be hard even for me. Has anyone had any experience of making anything similar? Or would anyone like to point me in the right direction of the type of material I would need, and where I am liable to get it.

I bought a a green tarp from my local Charlie's store,placed my tempest on top and marker penned around the shape and cut it out.
weight of the bed chair keeps it down and for the odd occasion I do use a gs it works perfect

There is a company in the UK that specialises in spare parts for tents etc including various qualities and grades of groundsheet. They were selling it in various widths and you just bought how many yards you wanted.

Sadly though, I lost the web address and cannot find it as I want to make a groundsheet for my Aqua MK 1.

I made them for. My original pioneer
And. More recently my tempest brolly.

I got a grey heavyweight tarp from. Amazon
And cut to shape. Works great. Lighter than trakker groundsheets and a lot harder wearing.

Did it for the Pio years ago to save weight. Then found
They were better quality and I could have a straight across
At the front so I didn't have to fold the GS

Heavy duty tarp off eBay just pick your size,just done my v2 Tempest with a 10x8,you waste a bit

If you didn't want the hassle of sourcing material I know Army Andy bivvy repairs would be able to sort you out. Have numerous pals who have had ones off him and his work is brilliant.

I've just done exactly that for my v2 bivvy after you posted about this recently, much lighter than the Trakker groundsheet and I also like the straight edge at the front that I have in line with the tension strap

My mistake then I could have sworn it was Army Andy they said they got them from. Ill try and check with who they were from.

Hi mate. I just cut to size the edges haven't frayed or anything.
The only thing I tried to do was keep the original folded edge
Along the front as that would get stepped on.
