Has anyone had any dealings with this shop as I ordered a Gardner compact carp duvet on the 26 September via ebay. They claimed they posted it on the 29 September but did not provide any tracking details and there communication is non existent and I've had to get ebay involved today as Its still not arrived. I checked there reviews and it seems they often take peoples money never send the item out and people have to use ebay to try and get there money back.

This forum would be well served if it had a pinned thread on shops, good and bad feedback left.
It would save a lot a people from being rolled over and help put some of these piss taking retailers out of business.
Two for the good,
England Angling
Johnson Ross.

As it happens in May I ordered the very same bag from this shop via eBay it was dispatched on the 5th and arrived on the 11th May so I can only say I was happy with their service

I ordered the same bag a few days before you and they've sent me the carp duvet plus, when I've questioned it, I've been asked to return it at my own cost before they send the compact bag.

Just checked my ebay and have got full refund but no explanation as to why I never received it though.

Only ever had good dealings with them via eBay for terminal tackle. Sometimes ordered on Saturday and delivered on a Sunday.
However a friend ordered an avid suit online last weekend. Rang to confirm as he never got an email but had paid. They couldn't find the order in their log. Said they would sort and send and today he received a refund
Something going on over there at the minute.

I brought some bits from them a while ago and delivery was within a couple of days
I've not had any problems when ordering through eBay, only when using their website.
Both website orders needed chasing after a couple of weeks, and in both cases they have been very apologetic and either upgraded the order, or thrown in extras.

Bought a couple of things off them over the last couple of months through eBay.
Both delivered earlier than stated,no issues.

A good firm would have apologised, sent out the correct item in reusable packing along with a returns label or a printable paid for returns label should be forwarded via E mail or even ,heavens above, by surface mail.
The correct item is then inspected by the buyer and the incorrect returned in the second item's box if required.
This should have been coordinated with the courier who's representative is instructed to wait 5 minutes.
I have had this situation a couple of times with damaged/incorrect rod deliveries.
This is one area where Ebay has much improved.
The slightest problem.....open a "Not as described" dispute and the returns label is automatically forwarded at the sellers expense.
I hope you get the cost of the returns postage refunded..

I think it may depend if they have stock
Everywhere is running out of stuff
What THEY should do is just give a call or even an email and say sorry no stock left We have these or do you want a refund
That would be great customer service or would that be normal expected service!!

I think you've hit the nail on the head regarding stock at the moment but different people obviously have differing experiences, I ordered recently from Fishing Bait and Tackle first time ever as well and stated it on a thread on here the next post by someone responded with I heard their service was ****, all I can say is I haven't got a bad word to say about them, they contacted me within an hour to say 2 items were out of stock so agreed a refund that was back in my bank the next day and the remaining goods were with me in 48hrs from Ireland with tracking number supplied and emailed a time it would be delivered, the driver was five minutes late but I won't hold that against them.
People have mentioned Johnson Ross tackle, I've had some good and some bad experiences with them likewise with England Angling, the best company I have dealt with time and again is the TackleBox.

That is my point
Simple customer service Imo
all that's going to happen is you will not use them again
Instead a phone call Or an email will go along way And You will probably have a returning customer
That's why the same shops are way ahead of all the other shops And always get mentioned in threads like this in the positive way

If you ordered it off ebay and the shop have not supplied tracking details in eBay, you will be able to make a complaint dispute with eBay, it might take a week or so to get your money back, but you will get your money back. I had the same issue with another tackle store/online shop, they said they sent my bivvy, however the tracking number was incorrect and it never come. ebay refunded the money.
Pain in the arse, but at least you arent out of pocket

That's true but it's no different than the reviews you see anywhere, Argos, Amazon, TripAdvisor etc etc, you end up with the 5 star to 1 star rating based on a broad survey of buyers. I very rarely buy anything off eBay with a less than 99% rating for that reason.
Any feedback is better than none and at least it paints a picture for anyone looking.
Based on what I've seen on here over the years about poor service i have ruled out certain rod builders, bait suppliers and tackle shops and spent my money with the ones that seem to have a good reputation, quite often paying more for the piece of mind.
Bought a few bits online last week, had 4 emails about my purchase, tracking number date and time of delivery all confirmed, package as ordered turned up, so definitely use again. In this day and age its a simple thing to put in place but some of these cowboys out there have no interest in doing this as telling lies is far easier and cheaper.
Case in point, Invicta Angling, posts more a less equal good and bad, therefore using them is a bit of a gamble, I'm not willing to take that gamble so they will never see an order from me and no doubt others, their loss because of something that's very easy to rectify its just bad business management and accelerated bankruptcy.

That was my problem with 2 orders made on their website. Both time it was showing in stock but when they didn't turn up in a timely manner, i phoned.
First time i phoned, the guy answering sorted it out straight away. With the second order i got the "sent it out today mate" response. Never turned up, so called again. Got the helpful fella, who not only apologised that the item wasn't in stock, but sorted out a replacement product and chucked a load of extra bits (Leads etc). Order placed should have been £24, £45 worth of stuff turned up
Probably won't use them again though..

I'm in exactly the same situation for the Gardner bed chair cover, it shows as despatched with royal mail 48 tracked but no actual tracking details and no response to any messages, I've opened a issue via eBay and I'm going to have to source an alternative as I need it for the weekend coming usually 2 weeks is plenty enough time for something to be delivered

I reckon this must be a Gardner thing, I reckon they are struggling with stock but rather than keeping their stock up to date, they just let people order and then cross fingers they get the stock in. I ordered a Gardner weigh sling, same as you I received tracking saying to had been dispatched etc and nothing turned up. Had to get a refund in the end. Porr communication too which was disappointing as I'd actually been to the owners house the week before to pick some gear up so would of expected better! Pity for them as I spent £800 last week which would of gone through them but went to angling direct instead

I agree 100%, in fact when I worked in Ashford I used to go into the shop quite often, the lads in there were great. Service always top notch as well. Since retiring have purchased from this shop via online regularly over the past 11 years without any problems at all.

after trying every medium to contact them even attempted telepathy
I got through on the phone eventually where they cancelled and refunded my order after a 20 second chat so obviously it hadn't been shipped as eBay stated.
no explanation or customer satisfaction at all except well refund that.
shame really as I've used them before with no issues but going forwards I wont be
