Just saw this on Carpology Adam Penning video it looks good whats your thoughts on it.
Looks like it has loads of headroom because there are no spokes like a brolley I was quite impressed by it but how long will that little wind up gadget last?. I think that's the real question
ive seen two videos of it. the claim that its out of the bag and up in 30 seconds . i would like to see that
as IMO getting it untangled, the material and poles all in place to go up that smooth will take more than 30 seconds
alone. ribs looked thin too.

But the main picture shows a different bivvy.
I don't think they will sell many at that price and the market will dictate what they get knocked out for. But its like most fishing companies keep pushing the price then show how wonderful they are with a price reduction.

Just seen this, isn't it a direct copy of the greys one - at a similar price, but now a few years later the market will tolerate it wheres the greys one prices itself out the market at the time.

well at the time I was using the full size proper original Pioneer
and my mate was so impressed with it wanted one but then we saw that Harefield tackle had this new wind up bivvy in stock so we went and had a play with it in the shop and it simply did not compare
opinions are like bum holes WE ALL HAVE ONE LOL and I thought it was crap but you may not

I was not criticising your opinion, and am just trying to gather information before I form one of my own. I bought the last bivvy I have on recommendations and am not entirely happy with it. I bought a sleeping bag on reccomendations and was not entirely happy with it. Moral of the story being what suits one person may not suit another for various reasons. However crap will always be crap.

i think the idea is great ... but would have reservations over the mechanism long term.
Assuming the mechanism is sound i think its a better option than the Pioneer as doesnt need additional erection poles to erect it (as a previous owner of the Pioneer ive always thought that was stupid idea in itself) nor all 4 storm poles
Love the wide double door options and the fact it can be splayed out to go lower.

Having said that I dont expect it will be a sales success but its good to see something different to the over complicated Pioneer (imo) and the insane amount of Tempest models, reincarnations and copies .... good luck JRC

Yep the concept is fine, I just hope they thought about what they was designing properly, and they used proper stress capable materials in the Hub/Boss, time will tell.

The only thing I actually like about is the split door design. Wasn't there a similar front made years ago by Scruffy Bob for trad'style brollies? Guess its the type of thing Army Andy could create, if you so desired it for just about any bivvy or brolly ?

I had the greys version many moons ago. it was a great bit of kit at the time and I got one second hand at a very good price.
It did go up and down very quickly, from memory it was very long packed down and I don't remember the poles folding. The greys came with 3 different fronts and it was made from a very good material. The winder mechanism was solid on the greys.
