I'm also in the same boat, did you try the new big ridgemonkey with usb c output?
I've the old original one and it's not upto the job, was hoping new one was.

Hi mate, got that and not impressed for the Mac.
Seems to drop power charge really quickly and I make sure its fully charge before I start a session.
Lets hope someone can help us.

I'm amazed at that. Ive got one that I use for fishing and work and it hardly ever needs recharging. For example last week it was fully charged, I charged a gas analyser from the 12v socket which took three hours, then i charged a head torch, a usb torch and my iphone twice and it only dropped 25%.
As a test i fully charged the monkey and then plugged in a decent sized Halfords cool box, they draw a stupid current that really requires a constant 12v supply from a running vehicle. Even that ran for four hours before flattening off the monkey pack.
This is the smaller C-vault. The 40,000 thingy.

If your mac is power hungry and you want to use it for a few days then you either need a second, perhaps larger capacity power pack (which is what you are asking ) or a solar panel that will put some charge back into your battery.
Have you any specs on what power your Mac uses and what capacity power pack you have?

Iphone, macbook pro, ipad all charged 1x and still got 15/20% on the Anker Powercore+ 26800 PD.

A 2600 power pack wont last 5 mins. He already has one with twice the power of the one you mention and its not enough.

Are you sure you have the big c smart vault and not the older type?
I have the Ridgemonkey Vault C-Smart 77850mAh and run my MacBook Air via usb c charger and it's been fine, I use a lot of power constantly on the iPhone X, I had the footy on an iPad all day Saturday and worked on my MacBook Air at the lake and it still had over half left when I left Sunday

A mate of mine has been working bacNkside using the powapac atom and solar panel, charging the laptop and then when using the laptop on its own battery, recharging the atom with the solar panel, he has been on the bank for a few days “workin from home” 😂😂

What are you running on your Mac ? .....if you're doing video editing/transcoding or anything that needs a lot of cpu you're going to need more power. If it's just general browsing or Remote Desktop sessions onto your corporate network then you'll use far less power. I use the larger c-smarts too, not just for my Mackbook pro.but also powering my cpap machine and charging my phone and iPad etc. With the internal battery and the csmart I can do a couple of days wfh on the bank with no worries ....but I don't stay logged in all day.

Hi Dane, did you get a new power bank in the end? I'm also looking for something for a macbook and wondered if the Powapacs Atom was good enough.
Those carplounge ones are pricey and start off at 5kg so hoping the larger Atom might do... Anyone else use one to power a laptop and what running times are you getting?
The 78,000 atom is 312ah so if my maths is right it should run my laptop (which takes 20-25 Watts on average) for over 12 hours. Should keep me going for a week as i only need to sign in now and again...

Depending on your budget I highly recommend the EcoFlow Delta. Charges my laptop 25 times.It's a bulky piece of kit, but none of the mentioned powerbanks comes even close to that. The Atom will charge your laptop once or twice, but the solar panel will only save you in summer. In current conditions it won't help you a bit.

Don't pay carp tax on a power pack, ravpower or anker.
Ravpower do some higher capacity ones which also have a uk plug output.

Sorry but a solar panel will definitely help this time of year. My home units are giving 90% of maximum output as I write this. Shorter daylight times in the winter will obviously hit the output hard but you will still get a bit.
The trick is to get the angle right to maximise the output.

Sure you'll get a bit. But the Atom's panel is probably not near as good as your home units. Don't get me wrong, the solar panel on the Atom is very useful, but its not something you can rely on.

I've found that it's all about looking at watt hours (wh) to compare.
I downloaded a mac app called coconut battery which shows my power consumption is about 20 watts with a couple of browser tabs open, it's more when booting up and less when idle so guess it evens out to 20 watts.
The usual power packs around 26800mah are about 99wh which would give me 5 hours or so. These weigh 0.4-0.5kg, £30-40 for usb c PD power delivery
The Atom 78 is 312wh = 15.6 hours this weighs 2.1kg, £210
The cheapest loungebox compact is 720wh = 36 hours and weighs 5kg, £400
The one Calabro mentioned is 1260wh = 63 hours and weighs 14kg, £1300+
Prices vary so much because of the size and also other things like features and the maximum power that can be delivered in Watts.

Yes definitely does make a difference all round, that ecoflow delta 1300 can apparently charge a Tesla
but it is quite loud.
Does your loungebox have 240v out or do you have to add an inverter for that?

Good post. I had a hard time understanding that Wh stuff, but this may help putting things into perspective. My mate ordered the Delta from Kickstart with a discount. I think it was $750, including "lifetime warranty on batteries." Its not cheap, but its life cycle is +800, compared to the Atom's +500. I tank-tested it several times. Yes, it's heavy and produces noise (for a moment), but so does the Atom. I've been working on it for a full week, simultaneously charging my laptop, RM bivvy light, vape, smartphone, Deeper, 2 camera's, battery charger and tablet and still had about 65% left. I even made a cup of coffee with a coffee machine, which was too much for my Atom. The Delta has a quick charge mode which makes a difference too (20-100% in 1 hour!), while my powapacs takes six or seven hours. The battery indicator is much more reliable too. Powa pacs has "the stadium effect". It charges up to 99% quickly, and then takes several hours to fill up that last %. If you start using it at 99% though, the indicator drops at a disproportianate rate. It seems to me that when the indicator says 99%, it is at about 85% or less in reality. The lower your percentage then, the less reliable the indicator becomes, jumping up and down like mad. None of that with the Delta.
EcoFlow has just launched a more affordable unit too, the R600 at $269 and 576Wh. The nice thing about it is that it's modular and you can link several of them into a larger one if you do not get enough juice out of a single module. If I got to choose again I wouldn't bother with the Atom and go for one of those. The Atom is cheaply built compared to EcoFlow, misses a ton of options, is not nearly as reliable and has some features that annoy me to bits. And let's not even discuss their service, which is terrible (at least for users outside the UK).

I think I'm sold on the loungebox compact 12v 60ah. Their website is pretty confusing though, the advert mentions it comes with a 9a charger but then the options when ordering are no charger/10a charger/20a charger/30a charger... Do you happen to know if a charger is included?

Deben tracer👍 I have the 22000 i think it is.
Still got half power after 5 nights of phone tablet dab vape head torch etc being charged up.
Had it 7 years and still holding charge.
Pricey but top quality

placed an order without a charger but added one later. Should be here any day now 
luckily they weren't the quickest at shipping so I had time to get hold of carplounge.
The deben tracer does look good, I saw they do a new LiFePo4 model in 12v 24ah along with smaller sizes. That one would give 288wh for about £250 so just a touch short of the 312wh of the Powapacs atom 78.
The smallest carplounge is about £420 or so with the charger but gives 720wh... They have a 'deal' on at the moment and it's normally £690
