Angling Direct are still giving delivery times for in stock items as 12-14 working days.
How much longer do they reckon they can keep doing that?

I had a delivery of them a week ago from an in stock item took 5 days to be dispatched and had it delivered 2 days later

Everyome is struggling to keep up with demand, shops, couriers, Royal Mail. At least they are letting you know how long to expect to wait. I'm sure you'd moan if they never said how long the delays could be and you had to wait 10-12 days?

Yes I ordered a couple of things around 3 weeks ago and had about the same. Dispatched about 5 days after ordering and another 2 days delivery. However I'm disappointed that they are not even offering a 24 or 48 hour delivery option at a cost of course. I was looking to order a bait boat but I'm not prepared to wait 12-14 working days for it. As was hoping to use it when I go fishing in next week.

Sign of the times fella, no doubt they are working with less staff than normal, have to work to strict 2m guild lines, delivery companies are running flat out, for some reason mail order is pretty busy, I guess it will be until everything is a bit more like normal,

It's just the way it is with the current situation at the moment they are probably working with minimal staff which ain't help with getting high numbers of orders to pick package up and get out the door . Plus their probably struggling to get stock from the tackle manufacturers that's why they are quoting them times if they need to order it

Unfortunately as good as my local shop are, and i do use them a lot they don't stock everything or have the means to order it in.
They did a Tracker order for more a few weeks ago though, and only took a few days to be able to collect from the shop.

could be something to do with what couriers they use or only post at certain times when orders are at high. I ordered 100 meters of armour cable from up north last Thursday it was here in Essex sat morning..

I phoned Angling Direct this morning to cancel an order as I need the items for the weekend & they cannot say when they are likely to be sent out. The woman I spoke to was very nice & cancelled the order & issued a refund straight away. She said they had a lot of people cancelling orders. Now that the shops have opened, I can just pick up what I need from my local tackle shop

Use your local whenever you can. Ring them, as many are doing click and collect. Many shops can ask the reps to bring in the stuff required If they are not in stock.
If your local hasn't been doing click & collect, don't have e-commerce or use royal mail to transport goods, then they need to stop wondering why people use Angling Direct or eBay in the first instance.

I ordered from total fishing tackle, and when I didn't get it after a week I emailed.... got told hopefully be despatched in the next few weeks.
It's a busy time yes, reduced working but that's almost useless information

One thing to take into consideration at the moment as well , is a reduced staffing level in the warehouse, not only for furloughed staff but due to them needing to socil distance in the picking and packing areas

Yes that is probably the reason for it.
However if Angling Direct cannot see that they are being ineffective during this time then more fool them.
As i have experienced and some others on this thread other companies are dealing with the situation in a sufficient way with realistic delivery times.
I've always been quite happy with Angling Direct but can see i will be spending my money elsewhere.

I've seen loads of people with unmarked vans delivering in the last several weeks. Got talking to a couple of lads that were working together in a big sprinter. They said they were builders but had no work and had found a website where you bid for delivery packages. If your say going to Birmingham for a delivery bid on everything you can going to Birmingham from your area till the vans full. Said they were earning a fortune! Told me some horror stories of 2/3 lads going out on deliveries allegedly kipping in the van for several days. Also that quite a few couldn't give a rats arse what box they delivered to you or what condition as long as they delivered something they got paid. Nightmare to sort for the customer as you can imagine. So sometimes better to take a bit longer and definitely get the right thing delivered in the right condition.

I ordered some line a few weeks ago and that took about 10 days whereas normally they turn stuff around in about 2. If they can't fulfill orders, they shouldn't take your money. I've got my fingers burnt and won't be in a hurry to go back.

I don't use online services much as I prefer to go into a shop, both local and non local. With all this going on though I've had to go online. I've had companies advertising stuff as “in stock” when in reality it wasn't! I've had to cancel a few orders because of this. The few orders that were delivered came fairly quickly to be honest.
I bought some reels from johnson ross last week and asked them to delay the sending out by a couple of days as no one home which they were more than happy to do and the reels arrived on the day I asked for! Fantastic service from johnson ross and I'm happy to put all future online orders to them. Highly recommended

Ordered a new Waverunner bait boat last night from Ebay.
I was actually looking to buy the Sport but ended up going for the MK4 as Ebay were doing a 5% off promotion, so i ended up saving around £50, plus a solar panel and extra battery.
So a much better deal than AD anyway.

I needed a front and a groundsheet for my Hide XL, Angling Direct were showing them as in stock but with a 10-14 day delivery time and no option to pay for next day delivery.
Ordered them yesterday morning from England Angling and they've just turned up, they were offering free next day delivery too so no extra charge.
That was via Parcel Force who I thought were part of Royal Mail anyway so not sure why AD are having problems?
