Hi,
I have just received my Cobb Premier Air and I wonder if someone who has already got one can tell me if their vents in the lid can be fully closed. In the closed position on mine, there is still a small opening. Is this right?
Cheers for any advice.

Just finished cooking a few burgers and sausages. Pleased with the results and used about a quarter of the charcoal I would have used on my main BBQ.

Cooked for 4 hours at constant 250ยบ on 4 briquettes on my Premier. Started to lose heat after 4hrs 30mins quite quickly though.

ThemoPro TP20S Wireless Remote
you can buy it in loads of places but prices vary dramatically I Got mine here some time ago its the nuts
but prices vary so pays to shop around LINKY POO
I cant wait until June when Im back on the bank I bought the Cobb Kettle and a 1litre flask so it boils the water for the flask while it helps to light the Cobb much faster
you can also use a the right size kelly kettle too by the time the kettle has boiled to fill a i litre flask its ready to cook on

How big are these things to lug about? I only fish single nights, are they practical for this or do you guys just use them on sessions? Do they add a lot of weight to your barrow push?

Thank you
posting this comment after I got a call this evening a mate has just bollixed his brand new Cobb this weekend
Typical new user error you need to take notice of his mistake
he lit the fire lighters put the charcoal on AND THEN !!! instead of waiting until the charcoal was ready to cook on with absolutely !!! no sign of flames ...............as the instructions tell you to
he only left it a few mins then put the lid on and the result the top ring melted yes its fixable for a price but totally avoidable

Now if only they made compact wood smokers that would be perfect for a session 👍😜

Got the roasting rack today, so should be able to cover most bases now. If I had known it wasn't included in the package I would have ordered one at the time. It's a bit deceptive as they show the roasting rack in the pictures, but it doesn't come with it!

I read about a guy that bought a Cobb for use on his super expensive yacht moored in a 5 star marina with a very strict no fires no BBQ rule
so in the bottom side wall he pushed some electrical flex a long length and it went into a locker
he got asked once and said it was electric and was never bothered again I thought it was genius

Just used mine with the roasting rack for the first time to cook a joint of beef, put water in the well with some chopped onions and garlic, couple of hours and it was cooked perfectly.

You don't need the roasting rack to do a roast. I do them all the time in mine & use a small enamelled dish to sit the joint in on the normal grill rack. Much easier to clean as well this way as the only dishwasher I have is the wife!!!
As for thermometers, I use an original iGrill Mini (Weber now sell them under their brand instead) which links up to phone/iPad via Bluetooth & app. I use these at home as well on my Weber Smokey Mountain when doing whole briskets & pork shoulders. The transmitter sticks to the lid or side via magnet & the probe cable can either go under the lid of through one of the holes in the top. Stick probe in the meat, open the app, select the meat type or temperature wanted within the app, click start & the phone notifies me when it reaches the desired temperature.
I bought the roasting rack as it is required if you want to use the Cobb Pizza Stone.
I also treated myself to the Cobb Kettle which is basically a Kelly Kettle designed to sit directly on the charcoal rack. I can see myself using this when first lighting the briquettes/cobblestone to concentrate the flames in a similar way to a charcoal starter chimney & getting a brew at the same time whilst waiting! One of those things that will be taken on a longer session rather than an overnighter.

Always got the flask with me for that reason in the Winter. Less so in the summer as it is usually full of milk instead - keeps much better than in the cool bag with rapidly warming up freezer blocks!!
