Hi All, currently looking for a new bedchair to replace my Trakker RLX and was hoping to get something lighter and more compact for the barrow. Any good recommendations? I have read a number of reviews of different ones but prefer the non paid feedback from actual users.

not sure how it compares with others, but i go the JRC X-lite levelbed.
6.5 kg and compact sized. have been very impressed with it so far, so worth a look. decent support on the back too.

the 2019 version of Tactical X Flatbed Compact - 2000mm L x 780mm W - 7.5kg
with adjustable lumbar support is the one I now use as my Trakker Levelite ELS
was to big under my 50" brolly and found this bed has the quality's of the ELS and it VERY cheap too !

Ive got one without the adjustable lumber support and its great, weighs nothing and is very compact/comfy

the Wychwood is very light but I had the mk1 very hard and cheaply made compared to the trakker the mk2 might be better

It says you can leave a bag on but i cant see any straps for keeping the bed closed, does it have any?

From the reviews on here (not personal experience), the light-but-comfy bedchair choice seems to come down to a three horse race. New wychwood tactical (as below), Trakker RLX Superlite and the new release JRC X-Lite Levelbed. I'm yet to work out which is the one for me!

The trakker RLX superlite seems to be the winner for me given its light weight but standard (not compact) dimensions. But I am yet to pull the trigger!

The xlites are great but compact, good for work nights but wouldn't fancy a long session on one. I had the original wychwood and it was ok to start but then sagged and the nuts and bolts kept loosening. The new ones may be better

The jrc is nearly twice the price of the Wychwood tactical mk2 from a quick search last night...

Currently got a fox flatliter mk2 sleepsystem but want to replace it with something lighter. Bought a Gardner carp duvet compact (would have gone for a fortis but twice the price). Now just need a suitable bed. Leaning towards the Trakker but previous sleeping bags I've had of there's we're useless and ripped.

Also have the original JRC stealth x-life, which is mega light but also mega small and uncomfy.

i bought one of the new wychwood tactical x flatbeds compact size with lumbar support, used it for two nights then sold it on.
It was very firm and uncomfy for me even with the elastics released as much as they would go, i wasn't impressed with the padding over the frame the whole bedchair seemed cheaply made.

Avid benchmark lite has to be considered too. Less than 7kg.

My RLX super light is the best I have had for comfort and weight.
JRC one mentioned below was not comfortable due to hand wheel.
Wychwood was awful, realised this after testing it in the garden for 5 minutes.
Trakker compact was ok though.

Had the Wychwood tactical compact mk1, now have the standrd mk2 and its excellent, can fold my self inflating mat and fortis bag in it. Has long inserts for the legs so can be set from low to rather high which makes it comfy for sitting on.

Thank you all for that and looking at the Stealth it looks good! I must admit regardless of what I am sleeping on I am mega light sleeper on the bank. Just getting fed up with bulk on the barrow now, especially when I have to tramp to my swim a long way off from the car.

I bought a RLX superlite this week after reading this thread, to replace my previous model JRC stealth (with the wheel, not the ‘flat' version).
Arrived yesterday and first impressions are excellent - very light but wider than the JRC and being flat feels like a big step forward. Techlite compact bag arriving today so will hopefully be a good combination. Need this lockdown to end so I stop buying tackle 😬
The legs are still short though which I guess is where some of the weight saving comes from as mentioned below. I tend to fish a few waters with sloping bank, so may have to go down the DIY route of making some leg extensions/extender blocks, or something similar. Has anyone done anything like this? Wonder if you could order some normal RLX legs from Trakker if they're longer.

like you I fish sloping banks and made 3 blocks 5 inches high I stood the foot of the bed on them drew round it then screwed a 3/4 inch border around it these work very well even on steep banks as the foot can tilt but cant slip out of the block
I amazed that an angling company hasnt made a universal extender block for sloping banks where extra height is needed
