Hi all has anyone had any contact with abbey lakes reference a refund ??

I was supposed to be going on the 2nd may which obviously isn't going to happen & unable to book for next year as I've already made plans...
/
I know Evelyn is supposed to be calling but as yet I've heard nothing yet.
I've heard several stories about refund full/part 50/50 and losing deposits ect... can anyone shed any light on this thanks....

A friend of mine was going to Abbey late march and his groupe paid a £2100 deposit which won't be returned it seems.

If they don't refund, you can always claim off your own travel insurance. That's what it's there for

I personally think it's wrong that fisheries keep deposits in this instance, during the lockdown!
So very wrong! I have been reading lots about this, as friends of mine were taken for a lot of money.
Insurance!! What Insurance.. I have YET to see someone post a cover page where the insurance confirms 100% cover and payment back to the customer?????
Happy to be proven wrong! 👍🏻

Well this has happened

Been given another date that we cant do due to other commitments

The 15th -22nd may 2021 which is basically spawning time,

so they are happy for us to sit behind motionless rods watching them spawn and take our money regardless and as we can't do that date they are keeping our deposit

All I got was its on our website as non refundable which is understandable if I had cancelled but I haven't, I booked the dates me and my party was available not the ones they give you .....

Thought abbey had a good name ... not the case now
But to keep 30%of your money is disgraceful behaviour

That's not good mate..
A real shame for your party. 👎🏻
I don't get why Fisheries like this and others I am reading about, like Domaine de la Ribiere, point blank refusing refunds. I even saw that Riberie was not using deposits on trips wiped out by the lockdown, for future bookings... just keeping the money!!!
Very wrong.!
That's 2 fisheries definitely off my list of venues!!!!!👎🏻👎🏻

I think some fisheries will loose business the more people find out what they are not doing to help people

I hope ive got this right.
You have turned down their offer of the following week next year from when you would have been there this year, give or take a bit. ? If your party couldn't make it, couldn't you have asked for another week ?
Ok there is a fair chance that there could be some fish spawning, but id take that week all day long, not all fish spawn at the same time etc.......chance of a real biggun/ big hit of hungry fish.........id take the chance.
From their point of view they have offered the best solution available, you've chosen to turn it down. so you lose your deposit. I can see their point, end of the day they have a business to run.
im still waiting for my call, ill be more than happy to just get a similar week for next year.

Each to there own dekay

They only gave me one date... a date I/we cannot do.
And yes we chose our date because of that reason heads down feeding, ready to spawn and not just watching them
