I have asked Delkim about using rechargeable batteries in the past and they don't/didn't recommend them mainly because of the lower voltage output and that fact the Delkims monitor the voltage and alerts you when low. However I was speaking with a friend the other week and he has been using rechargeable batts for a couple of years now and thinks they are great.
Has anyone else tried as I'm getting fed up with all the waste it generates.

All the waste? The batteries last for well over a year in delks, and all supermarkets etc have battery recycling bins in so what the problem? Fwiw I've always found rechargeable batteries great for the first couple of charges then lifespan goes downhill quickly

batteries in Delkims literally last years !! ALDI batteries are cheap and as good as Duracells too

Cant say how long they use to last in my Delkims ,but id say over 2 years
I've been changing mine every 6-7 months or so in the TXIs ans RXis

If I'm going through 6-7 batteries every year as opposed to 5 every few years then that's a 30:5 ratio huge difference. I've not explored the true impact ie charger and chemicals used and hence I thought I'd start the thread.
I hope I've mentioned that a friend has successfully used rechargeable for a few seasons I just wanted to know if others are doing the same.

if your using 6 or 7 battery`s in a set of Delkims a year either your delkims have a big problem or your using crap batterys ? as you can get EASY 2 years in delkims for one set of decent (Aldi) battery`s

I use Duracell batteries in my Delkims and get 3 years out of them usually. I have never had the low battery alarm either.

I DON'T use rechargeable batteries in my Microns but I do in various tool's and in my boat handset and when the kid's were younger in control pads etc, I just never found them reliable enough as they seem to discharge far more rapidly when not in use than normal cell batteries in either nicad or niamh , I could just imagine them discharging inbetween sessions too much, personally I'd just stick with std PP3s I've found the Panasonic one's in B&M to be ok

Same here if the device comes out of the factory with built in rechargeables then I'll use them otherwise I stick to alkaline, I shop around and as I don't use a lot of techy stuff it's not a problem for me

Then why are you changing them so often? They last forever with normal usage, so unless you fish 24/7/52 then you don't need to change them so much.. Delks are incredibly good on battery life
