I have had both and this is my honest assessment, the RX+ were faultless the only flaw was they wouldn't pick finicky/slow runs when using braid for piking due to line skip never had any issues mono and in any weather, anyway decided to buy the TXI-D to overcome this and I must admit its a gem of an alarm such an upgrade to the previous versions, no line skip and work in any conditions and look better in my opinion, both great alarms but the TXI-D edges it

If Delkim have overcome the reliability and receiver issues then they could have just won the war.
The Fox RX+ didn't feel as solid to me as my NTXr, and I wasn't convinced by the look either. Felt like a downgrade.
Out of interest are Delkims manufactured/assembled in the UK?

Another user here who changed from rx+ to TXId, there was nothing wrong with the fox they served me well during my ownership however they look ugly and felt plasticky and lets be honest you can't beat the sound of a Delkim,
So far the TXI d have been out in storm Chiara and Dennis and haven't missed a beat despite torrential weather, I've also tested the receiver on my lake which is 8 acres and it worked in every swim without any of the horrible crackling you used to get
Oh and they look the nuts!!!
I won't be swopping back that's for sure

False bleeps: I fish with one set of hangers and one set of weights which I use as needed. I can overcome false bleeps in all but gale conditions simply by tightening everything up/burying rod tips/changing weights /low sensitivity on my Nevilles. Would the same apply with these new Delkims? Also given that they work on vibration, I would have thought heavy rain bouncing off the rods would set them off or is that not the case?

The mode can be used in two ways too.You can set it to last for 15 minutes well the storm passes or switch it on to stay on.The receiver will only sound if you get a continuous movement on the alarm head lasting I think is 4 seconds.I just hope people only use it when fishing open water not near snags

I had the old txis and last year fancied a change And was very close to getting the FOX RX+. All reviews were good... i had a good look at a mates on the bank and just didnt like them. The heads looked very large and looked like they were made of shiny brittle plastic. I just couldn't bring myself to buy them. The NTXR looked far sturdier.
Last week i took the plunge and bought a set of TXI - D. I had initially been put off with people saying they are so complicated...
I set them up and played with all functions. They really are not complicated at all, once you've read the instructions and see how you set each mode they are simple to adjust to your tastes which then stays in the memory.
They feel far more sturdy than the old TXI , each is even supplied with a screw driver in the box for the now very secure battery cover.
Not been out with them yet but i can tell they are a big step up from the old ones. So depends on taste. For me TXI D wins. A further huge bonus is the superb after sales service at Delkim. You know if there's ever an issue they will fix it.

👍Tells you more of what is going on out in the lake.You know if your lead has been moved towards you or away from you and if different amount of beeps it is not just a liner you have more than likely been done

Fishing bow string tight to an island with mono at 120/130yrds my old txis picked up a fish with the bobbin tight up to the rod, no movement what so ever from anything, just beeps like a line bite but different, struck rod and 30lb fish landed.
Totally agree with the below, with a bit playing around they can detect things others just cant, did it for me

I must admit I'm seriously tempted by the new delkims some very good features and I admit the stylus is better than the wheel

Many would say actually no you can't as just hearing a beep tells you nothing but actually seeing what your hanger is doing does..

That's the thing,the beeps are different so like I said you can tell which direction your lead has been moved.There is a video on you tube by future fishing where Tony the owner explains it.

Yeah it tells you what way its moving, but that's it. There's no substitute for actually seeing it. Other alarms still bleep for dropbacks, just the same tone. Plus let's be honest, how often do you actually get drop backs? Hardly ever I'd guess

I fished in the storm a couple of weekends ago using the TXI-D's and slimlite bobbins, with sensitivity on medium and fairly tight lines. It was rough as hell with waves lapping over the bank and constant heavy rain, and I only got 1 bleep (which I assumed was a false indication) all night. I didn't even bother using the do not disturb function.

I was tempted to buy the new Delkims but tried a slow drop back at Carp Zwolle (you know, the ones that didn't get any registration on the old dells), and the new ones also didn't register a slow drop back. I had that once and lost a fish. Didn't like it.

I can't understand for the life of me why people need the advice of others to make a purchase like this.
If you like the RX+ like I do then buy them.
If you like the TXd then buy them.
Do you really need someone to hold your hand while you go in the shop ?

Perhaps he wanted to discuss pros and cons which is fine, it is a discussion forum after all. I certainly research products on forums before i buy to see if there are issues.
Both alarms are excellent, just depends if you prefer fox or delkim..

Cheaper option; put braid on your reels. You know if a carp farts within a yard of the hookbait so no need for fancy-Dan gizzmos!
