I've got some cheap and cheerful distance sticks that are ok and do the job
But have been looking at the Korda ones ... Has anyone got them and are they worth the additional money

Love see you get them in solid ground though

Bar the basics a lot of my (additional kit) are purchased based on multi purpose gains.

My floor Matt for instance protects my ground sheet, i also use it to prevent me snagging my waders when on pontoons and saves me from slipping on boards or mud during the winter. So imo worth it.

So onto distance sticks, I have the avid ones able to use them on boards as they are long, however I also use them as guiding markers (I have put isotopes onto the tips) so when during to rare occasion I get a run they help with night vision. They also help me by allowing my to secure my unhooking cradle which I use to shield my activity from the fish and they help pin it down.

Probably all a false economy in various ways yet in my mind allows my to justify dragging it all along. And I do miss such items when/if I don't have them.

ESP made some very functional distance sticks being very compact and fit for the job however for me they where limited for the jobs I had in mind.

Each to their own in their game.

Well you can say the same with pegs hence I use titanium pegs mainly for lightness. Either causes the use of a mallet, hammer etc in these situations.

Mine go into Rock for what's its worth.

Space and weight are the main reason though and they look the ********

I have korda ones and for me the grooves are the main advantage. Had standard smooth ones and got fed up with line/braid slipping off in windy conditions. Grooves cure this. I didnt pay anywhere near rrp either though !

I've got a set of avid and a set of Korda. Both do the same job but I think the grooves on the Korda ones help get less tangles and the auger points are handy on gravel pits. I wouldn't be paying the silly prices on eBay for a set when the last production run ended though. That was just crackers.

You get my point though. I've got some fox ones cost me about 15 quid. More than adequate for the job. Some of the prices people pay on eBay for the Korda ones are rediculous

Large pencil rubbers stuck on top of your distance stix solves the safety issue.

If the grooves are an issues then would some wraps of electrical tape not help to keep line in place rather than sliding up, could even get some of the 5mm reflective stuff to help them become more visible during the hours of darkness

Distance sticks are so last century. Spot on fish is the way to go for the man on the bank. Only £399.99 so £800 for two not sure if the string is extra

3m do a glow in the dark tape, that I ordered for that purpose. The order was cancelled by the supplier and I've not gotten round to reorder. May do that now.

Gardner wrappers at less than a tenner also double up as a bankstick should you need them to.

I had a problem buying wrap sticks for a while Im over it now though.

I forgot to take my distance sticks last week so just used my storm poles that actually worked better imo, still blanked though

After getting in 3 almighty messes with my distance sticks during the night (Operator error no doubt!) Twice the line came off the top and also I also managed to catch a wrap on the rod Aaarrgh!
I'm up for getting the Korda ones does anyone who have them know where I could get them cheaper?

I've got the esp ones, very good and well made.

But I'm a big fan of jag gear and always look at the Korda ones when I'm in the shop 😂

It's a shame as I have a set of his distance sticks and wanted to get a few more bits from his range as the quality is superb, my partner got mine with my name engraved on them for my 30th.
