I'm toying with the idea of rolling my own baits again.
Used to back in lates 80s / 90s and kind of enjoyed it.
Had the large Gardner Roller & Gun.
Wont be looking to roll more than 12 eggs a week really , where is best to get rollers, guns & any ideas for boiling or steaming baits?

Boil them in a chip pan, either a stove top one or a deep fat fryer. Tables get the gardner ones, wouldn't bother with the wide versions for that amount of bait. Get a gun from screwfix or somewhere like that, same as the gardner version but without the added carp tax

gardner tables - but the NGT ones also do the job for a fraction of the price.
get a cheap stock pot and boil them on the hob - 12eggs aint much bait really.
mixing bowls etc can be sourced cheap as from places like wilko's etc

Those ngt ones are rubbish, not rigid enough imo. I bought one and threw it away pretty quickly. Not a patch on the gardner ones

i used the 20mm one - about a third of the price and worked perfectly...

As well as the all singing, all dancing tables Shilham also do a range of cheaper tables that would suit your requirements just fine. A half decent gun is a game changer - definitely worth investing in something better than a caulking gun if you value your fingers/ grip/ wrist/ sanity!

Gardner XT gun looks best reasonable option for the gun.
There is quite a few food mixers out now with decent bowls and attachments like dough hooks etc
Boiling...was thinking about a deep fat fryer ?
Would you mix own basemixes or buy from companies?
I am a fan of birdfood baits as can be used for sweet or savoury purposes.

That's the main reason I prefer home rolled bait, there is little financial benefit in rolling off the shelf base mixes

Kinda stopped rolling last year after finding Jason's a baits but I've got the Gardner xt with the 5 mix treble nosel, makes life very easy.

I have to disagree, by the time you buy a ready made basemix, additives, eggs and factored in your time, compared to the same product ready rolled it works out at best cost neutral.
Buying separate ingredients and formulating your own basemix is where it is at for me

Depends on what mix you buy, what you add to it. My time doesn't factor in to me as you can't buy my bait off the shelf, and that's just how I like it.

Small one for 1 egg hook bait mixes
Cheap digital scales from eBay
Small pan scales for small quantity ingredients
Big pan with wire cage off eBay
I make loads.of bait with the above, easily do 12-16 eggs in a couple of hours in the kitchen

I'd say defo go for the deep fat fryer, just started using one about a month ago and wow what a difference. Can get all the boilies out in one go, the size of the holes in the sive drain the water a lot quicker that a normal seive wich helps prevent water all over the floor. Also can set the temp at about 180 and it will continue to boil. On the pan I kept having to wait for the water to re boil after a few gos. Also can fit a good size in the deep faster fryer mabie half a kg and there really cheap to buy.
Everything depends on how quick you want to be interms or gear, if your doing 12 egg mixes and you have all the time in the world then stick to what people are saying ok here don't go to over the top. Personally if it was me I would still buy a big Gardner table and gun. What I would say about the big table is it wants to be fixed down to a base so think about that before too 👍🏻
