So it's now time for a new set if reels
As I've been using basias on my other rods

If you can afford Basia's then you had better get Castizm's for the scopes. Just the right size and in keeping with your other tackle.

Daiwa GS4000 would Balance up good on them or Shimano ultegra 5500 would aswell

cant comment on the 9ft scopes because never owned any but on my tackle box dv 10ft rods I use the old Shimano 4500 sea spins .perfect match.

ive just been looking at the korum zelos 6000 in AD, super quality for the money. Its a 'mini pit' bit like castizm but tad lighter.

Ultegra ci4 xtc 5500. Same size and weight as a cast'izm but I prefer the colour.

I'm using Daiwa crosscast 5000QD on my 9ft scopes and balance perfectly

I had a set of ultegra xtd 5500 and fox fx9s on my 9fters. Both were great but the shimanos were lighter

Fella s May I ask what exactly you mean by balancing your rods / reels ?
Balancing the rod on your finger just in front of the reel seat ?
Or balancing your tackle overall ?
rod to reel then line to test curve?
casting weight etc

Dont really see why it matters as 99% of the time there sat on my pod and when there not im either casting / reeling in with or without a fish on either way effects the balance.

I use emblem 35 scw on mine, work perfectly. Although I know a guy that just uses his basias on his so you could just use yours if you want.

I use some SS2600s on my 3lb ones for my smaller lakes

I use ci4 xtb 5500's on my 10's and 6's ,it's the feel of the reel what I like whether they are balanced or not I don't know.

I find the 5500 size reels to big on anything under 2.25lb rods personally

IMO the best carp reels you can get are Big Pits, but agreed these would have to be balanced with the right carp rod and reel combo.

I use shimano xtd 5500 on my 9 ft scopes they work well together. A big pit on them would be ridiculous.

Rods must, I repeat "MUST" be level and reel handles symmetrical otherwise you'll never catch ❗.
My other tip is wear "camo". With these three tips you'll catch everytime.

To balance your rod if its tip heavy, just pull your butt cap off and add lead weights into the butt and glue them in, usually they only need a small amount. Makes a big difference. The simplest way to find how much lead you need, just fasten the lead to the end of the butt on the outside and once you have the balance right, fit it inside.

If there butt heavy I don't bother as I hardly notice it. Nothing no worse than a tip heavy rod.

You need to be a bit more specific with camo. If your not wearing camo pants then your not catching simple fact of fishing!!
