I also get cold feet and went through numerous sock options, none of them made a difference. I ended up getting thermal salopettes which did the job - if you're legs are warm enough they'll circulate warm blood around the feet. It's when the body gets cold that circulation slows to the extremities in order to maintain core temps.

Regardless of what socks you end up getting the trick is to change your socks every now and again. When your feet sweat the socks get damp and you get cold feet so take a few pairs and rotate them, I usually put the pair I've taken off under my pillow and then stick them inside my jacket to warm them up before I put them on again.

There is a thread running in the tackle section - 'sleeping bag help' which has mention of cold feet.

I too suffer from cold feet and tried various socks. I set up in a normal pair then put these on with the thin liners

I also wear baffin Trappers and a Snugpak suit with the Woolpower top and leggins

Merino works for me, but best option is still heated insoles (rechargable). Lidl sells them every year.

Someone should invent some heated socks that connect to a heat exchanger that is heated by a gas/petrol cooker!!

I thought they were awful. I bought a couple of pairs a few years back
They lasted 2 washes before they had fallen apart and were no warmer than a regular walking sock. Two colleagues at work that bought some found the same.

I wear a decent pair of wool socks, but I find my footwear to be just as important.
The past couple of years I've been wearing a pair of Cabela's “Inferno” winter boots. Best pair of winter foodwear I've had. Great for fishing, but I use them for all sorts of winter outdoors stuff. I don't get cold feet in them. I bought a size bigger, I recommend that with winter footwear, too tight and you'll be cold.

I recently bought 2 pairs of 68% merino wool socks from a company called 'insight clothing' for only £4.99 with free postage, there pretty good for price.
