Very very unlikely mate. Don't think many X boats available or brought
Can only say my RT4 is the best bit of kit I have ever owned and won't be swapping for anything else unless a Gladiator RS or V drone came up...

X boat for me. To many Rt4 being sent back for warranty repairs. Ok so they pay shipping but the xboat you can get into and fix your self or add extras yourself. If you struggle you can get it sorted at a hobby shop.

Xboat is untested hardly anyone seems to have one so its a risk.Sending a rt4 back isnt a problem 3 years warranty is very good they arrange to pick it up and return so its hassle free and the vast majority of people have had no problems whatsoever.It goes without saying with the nature of what it is and all the extra gadgets there will be odd problems.Not all but some of these have been user error we have had a few obvious ones on here.Dont see the problem with their excellent no quibble warranty .Its the most reliable and best boat i have had by miles.Had mine around 3.5 years and yes it has been back i broke my underwater camera totally my fault they picked it up repaired it and received it back no charge 10 days later.Also i have broke an ariel and lost another and received 2 new ones free.The only fault with this company has been communication in the past but once you do get in touch with them they do whatever it takes to put right..When i first got the boat after a few months one of my batterys wasnt lasting very long dont know if it was a fault or i had mucked it up running it down to low .When i rang them there was no send it back and we will look at it they just sent me a new one.

I don't think the x boat has gained enough popularity for us to know about its warranty service yet.

Xboat doesn't need to go back just the faulty unit and it can be sorted in the uk. If it's just a connector it can be done yourself. Can't do that with a rt4. You can't even check unless you want to void the warranty.
Don't get me wrong it's a nice boat and with the new rucksack it would have been spot on for me but I want to be able to look after / service and repair the boat myself. Also I can do any upgrades myself so no need to be without the boat.

Correct vossy my boat had the origonal red connectors on and i changed them for the new yellow gold ones.Its 2 screws to take the middle tray out and you can access all the wiring and fishfinder etc.I did have a imtermittent connection problem with the old connectors and daniel wattsapped me and showed me which one to change.I changed them all on everything including chargers batteries whilst i was at it as they cost pence.

Have heard carplounge customer service has much improved toslons is even worse in fact its diabolical virtually none existent .Loads of people have asked questions about their products sometimes over and over again they just get ignored.

Yep think I was being abit hasty. They didn't reply straight away because they were away at a show.
When they did reply it went in my junk mail and I didn't see it.
I was told the boat would be with me by end of January and it was sent 4th February so I can't really moan.
The boat came well packaged and exactly how I ordered it with all the upgrades etc.
I've since had further conversations with Daniel because I Restored my Lowrance back to Default (my fault) and he sent me a step by step pdf file so I could set it up again.

I have heard the xboat is slow and could do with better motors .One thing I love about the rt4 tis the speed of it. isn't half helpful when fishing a long way out on big waters makes getting rods out much less effort

This is a company local to me. They have developed a range of different size boats with many features that can be chosen to your personal design and requirements, prices will be according to your spec that you require. A number of local anglers some who are on exclusive venues in Kent use them. It could be well worth a phone call to get some information and prices ! They also service most makes of Bait Boats as well.

I'd say that all depends on what you want.
If your going for the Chirp 4 because of screen size I was advised not too by Daniel as there's little gain for the money.
Think if you'll need 2 bait spirals.
Personally if I were buying again I'd have the Waymarine option but as said personal pref

I didn't want gps or autopilot so that's why I went with a Lowrance Hook 4x, it's a very good echo without being overly complicated. I think spirals are an edge definitely, also I went with the upgraded boat and echo batteries and hopper covers. The speed of the rt4 even with the slower low noise motors is impressive compared to my old viper! The camo padded luggage is very nice also, and the overall weight of the boat is very light.
Like said I'm pretty impressed.

I think tk made that up to justify what he had blindly said because why would someone who owned a rt4 then buy a xboat it doesnt add up.Just my instant thought as soon as i read it i thought good answer bla blah blah.Now i have answered what most of the rest of you were thinking,Anybody got or seen the raymarine autopilot function or any long term feedback on the carplounge one.I got the toslon 640 and was told 2 years ago on the 1 reply i got the autoplilot function would become available on it as they were working on it and should be available for update in 6 months.I know they brought one out but all posts on this subject are still ignored today they wont even post to say its not going to happen questions are completley ignored

As I pointed out in the beginning one of the reasons I picked it was because of the quality of the build. I can actually see what is in the boat. Can you say the same of the rt4. I can carry out repairs and upgrades myself. Which is something I wanted to do as I only opted for the auto pilot to be fitted. Due to being given the heads up on a new toslon fish finder being released in the next few months.

The x boat has been out since 2015, if it was a serious contender to knock CL off the top spot I'm pretty sure it would have been all over the mags by now.

I have an RT4 and i must admit mine had an issue at first which was quickly resolved. I think that the fact that the amount of boats that CL sell would lead to a certain percentage having problems. Selling lots of boats will lead to more people complaining and highlighting problems. Small sellers will consequently have less problems highlighted. I did consider the X Boat when deciding to get a new boat but as has been said the website was very sketchy at the time although it may have improved now. I had a Waverunner previously and didn't have any problems with it but am very happy with the RT4.

Sorry if I've upset you. You seem to have taken it personally along with a couple of others. I posted why I chose the xboat. I agree the uk website is crap but then it isn't the toslon site. I am lead to believe it is some one most people now about in carp fishing, As to the different options that carp lounge offer and xboat doesn't. Hi Jon. Post 4 was all I needed to say but your not allowed your own opinion. Carp lounge has done a fantastic job of advertising and pushing their boat. For some reason Toslon hasn't. Maybe they are just happy to have their products go in other boats and let their own boat slowly gain popularity.

Origionally carplounge offered the 640 on the rt4 as it was a handy tool being a combined fishfinder gps unit .The fishfinder wasnt as good as the lowrance they were offering nor is the gps as good as their own stand alone gps.It offered a good compromise all in one .Toslon are new to baitboats and buying one at the moment is buying one blind and a risk. As we know most baitboats out there are not that good many are crap i know because i have owned most of them.Like richie i liked my waverunner and that was the best of all those i have owned mainly because of battery life.As for all boats doing the same ie take your bait out drop it and come back yes they do and i would have said that before owning a rt4.The best thing about it is how quick you can drop your rig out and get back.Much less faffing about trying to keep it straight in wind etc you hardly need to touch the remote .Plus you can do other things whilst boat is moving even set your rod and indicator up whilst its coming back .In the middle of the night when all you want to do is get rod out and back in bivvy its much quicker and less effort its a joy to use..Every other boat i have used you have to concentrate and faff about when fishing big distances or in winds.And the power of it you can keep a tight to the boat saving big bows of line which is a mare with long runs in winds this has been a godsend on my local res.Quite often even in a crosswind its still only a occasional flick to get it back 100%straight.I took advice from a couple of lads on here and took the plunge 3or4 years ago they were wrong its better than they claimed

So are you saying that the rt4 can be opened up to check for a loose connection or a plug that has come loose even if it is under warranty. I was lead to believe you couldn't as this would void the warranty. Also splitting the boat then re sealing isn't a simple two minute job. The xboat you can see everything when you remove the battery covers.

Just to add my own experience of buying, CL advised against the 640 due to it's poorer performance in shallower water unless I really wanted a 'cheaper' option in which case it was fine, like you say as a compromise, as compared the units you quoted

Yes You can access all the wiring by taking out the large battery tray and i am sure carplounge would agree to you fixing something simple yourself rather than pay to have it sent back and returned.They wouldnt know anyway as its just a couple of screws to lift the whole thing out .I had a problem with the toslon 640 being inaccurate i took all the parts out of the boat through this tray and returned it with the base unit and replaced the lot ,the fault ended up being with the toslon base unit.Tony what is the autopilot like is it reliable and accurate simple to use ?

Its been fine on open banks in calm weather, but where I am pike fishing I am under trees and it struggles so I set it to return10 yards out. Returning to same baited spots it has been accurate.

I have owned an Xboat for a year now and its been well hammered. I tarted up with a toslon 640 and Xpilot. From my perspective as an owner and frequent user, i can offer the following review.
Build quality is superb and has operated flawlessly since I got it. I went for the Xboat as it had an extended warranty (2years) and was supplied and supported within the UK by Tom at Xboat UK. Xpilot is superb if you are lazy like me and the boat travels true, no zig zagging etc etc. It takes up to 5kg of bait (yes, i have filled both hoppers when in France). Used it to up to 200 yards ith no issues. Boat speed is about 0.8 m/s empty and 0.7m/s fully loaded and with standard props (these can be upgraded if a little more poke is required)
I have never owned an RT4 and did consider one while i was looking around but the general negative views on a lot of sites regarding reliability put me off completely. For me, reliability is the number one factor if you are parting with over 2 grand for a toy and up to now i havnt seen any negative feedback on xboats from owners (and there are plenty out there). If i ever want to upgrade or downgrade, i can do this myself, its all plug and play without any boat splitting for access.
So, im a very happy bunny with my xboat and would recommend it.

Why did you go for the 640 instead of the 500 considering your also using the xpilot. Does the 640 do alot more than the 500 taking away the gps?

Hi Jon, its been out in relatively choppy water but not big waves etc. Tbh i would not send any boat out in very windy/choppy conditions in case i lost it for any reason! Biggest water its been on is about 10 acres. The xpilot corrected positioning at all times to compensate for any cross wind or tow etc

The xpilot is accurate to plus or minus 5m but in reality (measured via the 640) this has been plus or minus 3m. I got the 640 as well as this is acvurate to plus or minus 1m and allows for fine tuning when dropping baits etc at the chosen point. Its as accurate as any cast without having to cast accurately. Tbh, the 500 has a bigger screen and for me thats a plus. The 640 has a compass but if you have the xpilot then no compass required. The 640 does save marks via its gps and displays the route etc so could be used instead of the xpilot but then its a manual pilot jobby. I prefer the autopilot as i can do stuff while its on its way out and on its way back, im lazy and impatient so it works perfect for me.

Tbh, havnt a clue how it compares with any other boat but what I can say is that a standard set lasted more than required for 2 anglers fishing 3 rods at an average 100m+ for 4 “recasts” per day for all rods. I put a freshly charged set in at the start of each day and havnt totally drained then in use. Well more than enough imho.

Be interested in your objective views on yours.......or are you a RT4 sheep who wont hear anything about other boats or associated kit? Either way, enjoy yours as much as i do mine

I agree. I have had various boats and all were excellent at what they do. In fact one of the better ones was a lake reaper, cheap as chips and a little war horse unless things got too breezy or choppy. Never had a problem with any of them as long as they are looked after. The RT4 looks a good boat but as said, i have never had one so cant constructively comment on its capabilities. I can comment on the Xboat and it ticks all my boxes. The web site is crap, agree, but i researched and based on all those second hand comments i plumped for it, as said earlier, based on the negative feedback on the RT4 reliability and returns for fixes of one kind or another. For me, UK support was the prime deal maker. In terms of accuracy the 640 is extremely accurate, you just have to know your spot when the boat gets there based on the screen details (as with any finder) but this can be true for the 500 or any other as well

When i bother using autopiliot im fishing an area instead of a spot.... if if i want to be with 4cm of a spot i use a rowing boat or a camera.... so no 5m isnt a big difference if you use mixture of technology available.

I'm kinda set on an x-boat. Has anyone any experience of ordering one from carplounge?. Seems a decent discount over the tft prices, obvious downside is that it needs to go back to Germany for any warranty work.
I'm kinda set on an x-boat. Has anyone any experience of ordering one from carplounge?. Seems a decent discount over the tft prices, obvious downside is that it needs to go back to Germany for any warranty work.

A friend of mine has had his xboat autopilot for around 8 months now he has only used it half a dozen times and likes it but wishes he had paid the extra for a rt4 having used it in the next swim to me for a week.;

Ditto. My mates brought a X Boat and it's been good for them but it's slow and really like comparing a Porsche to a Kia I was doing 3 rods before my mate had done 1....he was turning a little Green with envy bless 🤣
It is easier if it goes wrong but only if you trust in TFT to really know about bait boats compared to those that actually make them ie CL

Wasn't bothered with the V3 autopilot prefer simple X Pilot so went with that. HPD motors, Futaba Raymarine Extended range and bait screw
Had the Toslon and apparently Raymarine is way better so decided to give that a go
Also for a change the new All Black Dark Carbon....not that colour was all that much of a consideration.
Dan at CL is overseeing the build etc...top man 👍👍😎

People don't buy stuff unless it's got a track record. To assume they are just followers and haven't made their own reasoned decisions is just plain wrong!!!!!
I ve had RT's from before they were popular maybe 7-8 yrs ago. Took a risk but IMO paid off.
Not seen another boat to match it for perfect size and performance and trust me spent hours of research all have their little benefits and disadvantages

Strange spec that Lowrance non CHIRP but V2 autopilot

Only if you are fishing a big river or Chantecoq, they are noisy as well, the standard motors are more than adequate for most scenarios. The standard Jamara remote is better as well especially if you have the autopilot as it takes over if you switch it on and the autopilot takes over again when you switch it off, the Futaba doesn't do that

I had the ultra quit motors on my old boat and got a new one with the brushless motors recently. I would much rather have the brushless ones. Its nice to have that extra bit of speed when you need it and there is no maintenance with the brushless motors. If you plan on getting the Auto Pilot they recommend the brushless motors as they say they have a faster response time. They are a bit noisier but if you want to be a bit stealthier you can run the boat speed at 50% as you approach your target area which lowers the noise.

Ah right that makes sense, I didn't realise they did a standard motor just thought it was the low noise or the brushless so was just comparing those
