Hi, I live here in Italy and regulalry fish, Ive translated the following article for you the best i can from Italian, Its not perfect but i think you will get and idea...
Grazie e Buenvenuto in Italia

Parco Del Brenta: a pearl set in the North East of Italy, in more detail we are talking about a former gravel pit of 145,000 square meters, located in Fontaniva, in the province of Padova, to be more precise, in via bell. To underline that we are talking about a lake of GETAPESCA certified sport fishing, no small feat in these times.

FISHING APPROACH

The approach to the lake generally follows the fixed points, even though almost every station is a story in itself.
After nearly 10 years of fishing in these waters, I can try to speak my mind on the best approach to deal with these waters.
I use a Monofilament line ranging from 0.35 to 0.40mm depending on the conditions that I'm going to deal with, and then by casting distance and the presence of underwater obstacles.
Instead of using the classic leadcore, I prefer to use a fluorocarbon leader, a diameter of between 0.40 and 0,60mm. Because the lake bottom is mostly hard and composed of gravel, then an abrasion-resistant material such as fluorocarbon is the ideal choice.
The fluorocarbon is a good choice, given the transparency of the water of the Brenta lake.
Alternatively, a soft braid of 35lb, light in color, is the winning choice for a compromise on softness / abrasion resistance.
Finally as regards the hooks, personally I use to stem models long or curved back, measuring from 4 to 6, depending of location, presence of barriers, time of year, etc ...

Baiting AND BAIT

Not being able to use radio-controlled boat , we'll have baiting from the shore. So let us arm ourselves with a spomb for chumming remotely with our mix.
Personally I like to use a mixture created with a bit of everything: pellets of mixed sizes and flavors, sweet corn, spicy hemp, tigernuts, hemp flour, liquid and attractive boilies crumbled and whole.
As for the rig, my personal preference goes towards balanced, single or double boilies or wafter balanced and a balanced particle such as a tigernut.
Lately many of my friends get excellent results with plastic bait or fake baits.
All these baits would i would use would be under the diameter of 16-18mm, especially in winter would not go beyond 14mm.

STATIONS
Now let's review one by one the locations and hot spots of each:

Point 1
It is one of the items most requested, because this offers many interesting spots where to cast our rigs.
In detail, straight ahead at about 60-70m we find an old sunken road, interesting area of passage of carp.A great spot to deal with a good line and a leader fluorocarbon, given the large amount of stones and pebbles that can easily cut our line .Also about 30m turns out to be a great spot, convenient for baiting given the distance. For those who fish on the left, with a good cast of about 70-80m, you can fish near the plateau, another exceptional spot in the springtime.

Point 2
A fairly narrow area, but still offers interesting ideas, such as fishing at the foot of the plateau that we have to cast to about 70m and the wood and reeds to our left, great night spots.

Point 3
Even here we can easily catch at the top and at the base of the plateau which is right in front of us at the usual distance of 80m.The interest also on the right swim and reeds swim.

Point 4
Similar to the third position just described, those who fish on the right casts to the base of the plateau and a reed in the immediate swim on our right.

location 5-6
Two very similar positions, here you are fishing in the most deep part of the lake, in front of us we find up to 8meters of depth. Optimal in winter zone. also consider the two swims immediate left and right, especially at night.

Point 7
Another location that winter always gives satisfaction, here are fishing straight ahead about 40m, and along the swim to the right, a winter hot spot has always taken into account.

Point 8
very similar to the 7, but here we use the depth in front of us, at the launch of the water .Another 8-9m depth, cast to 40-50m where we find hot spots, are the woodshed swim immediate left and the suncken tree always present good spots.

terminal 9-10
classical stations from "few but large"! Especially in winter these two swims can give great satisfaction, fishing in front of us deeply, in the range of 8-9m. Two stations I would call a jolly winter!

Point 11
we are at the entrance of the large loop formed by the previously described . Here stations the usual plateau which is located at a cast to about 60-70m.
Those, however who are fishing to the right, you find the tip of the of the loop just described.

Point 12
3 station similar to like fishing setup, or you point on the plateau that we find to 80m cast .Interesting also gully that are located about 30-40m from the post office, right in front of us.Also the most deep area to our right deserves our attention, especially in winter.

Point 13
Here we fish in front of us to about 40m, where there is a good area of passage for travelling carp, little more than 100m we find the foundations of the sunken road, a great spot to deal always with care, keeping in mind that if leaving the carp were to exceed half of the sunken road, inevitably it will cut net our main line scraping against the hard surface of the road itself (I speak from experience!), so watch out! Nightime by also assessing the immediate right swim, where there is a small woodshed.

Have a look at Free spirit trip to parco on YouTube. Hutch was fishing peg 15 on it and rinsed it. I think Dave (Spomb) fished 16 or 17 on it too.

kev Ellis fished 15 on his video too.

When are you going?

Cheers for that mate, I've watched them now and jeeeeesus Christ they did rinse it! 😂
I'm not expecting anything like that but a few fish would be good
I'm going peg 15 July this year and then I've got 16 & 17 for October next year. I tried to get peg one on the point but it's totally stitched up now.

Just got back from Parco.Started on pegs 16/17 but there was no fish in the area.We moved to 7 and it picked up a bit.
It was my third trip there and always cought a few.Definitely this was hardest session of the all.

Guy in peg 9 cought 20fish in 4 days...most of them over 20kg mark.Great lake, big head of big fish but obviously not easy

Good luck !

Glad you got amongst them mate!
That was one of my worries with regards to peg 16/17 as it's in the corner but I guess it can be like that in any swim at some time and hopefully there will be a peg or two free.

I've seen that during the summer months the catfish can be a nuisance and to stay away from pellets but then in other articles I've heard people say that pellets are the key to success....... any experience with this?
Take my hat off to you for going at this time of year!!! Did you fly?

I've been in 22 in June and in 9 in December. Its true about pellet-carp love it ! Tried my own tactic at the start but as soon as I changed to solid pva with pellet I started catching

Got 1 or 2 cats in the summer, but wouldn't say its a problem...60lb+ sturgeon will give you some fun during the fight for sure !

No,i drive everywhere mate

It's mad to think them huge fish seem to always come to little bags Instead of beds of bait. You'd have thought they would wise up to it but it seems that's just what they want!

Do you have any idea of when the carp (usually) start to spawn in there? Like May or maybe earlier with the climate? I know it depends on the year but these things usually happen around the same period give or take.

I'm flying over in July as I'm going with my partner and she's not fishing so I think it'll just be easier but for the second trip it's a road trip so looking forward to that!

Did you do well in June or did you find it hard work in the heat? I know the free spirit lads cleaned up in late June/July but I'm guessing they just timed it right and the fish were going mad for it!!

With the cats I guess it's just luck. I spoke to a chap that was getting hammered by them having 7 on the bounce but then switched to pop ups and didn't have another after that.

Just trying to piece together snippets of information as you do in the hope of a successful Trip..... can't wait!!!

Not sure about the spawning but can ask the owner for you. I think some of them were actually spawning when I was there mid June but still cought around 30fish in 10 days

Do you know what peg you fishing?

They feed well in heat as the water is quite deep so no problem witm high temp

Yep we had -8'C few nights so was...interesting

You got good pegs but as always ,you never know where they gonna be at a certain time

At the begining try different colours of 10/12mm pop ups on each rod. As soon as you get a bait put the same colour on all rods

lol I did think when I saw the pics of the chap in peg 9 catching a few that he was a braver man than me!

Yep it's part of the fun though, tracking them down and getting the result!

You back on there anytime soon? I'm after a monster leather..... that's the dream anyway! 👍

ive just been told that peg 15 is in the shade all day so I'm thinking about changing my peg now as I'm in need of some sun aswell as fishing. From your experience do you know if pegs 16 or 17 get much sun either?

Abit of a late reply but I had a great trip in July
Although I struggled to get amongst the bigger fish I did manage a 50 to put the cherry on the cake so I was well happy 👌, Stacks & stacks of 20/30s & a few 40s as well.
I wasn't even fishing nights as by evening I was literally exhausted from spombing/catching all day. It was averaging 30-35 degrees each day & even though I am a sun junky I struggled big time & suffered heat stroke for a couple of days (my own fault)
All in all it was a great first trip & I can't wait to get back although I hope the facilities are upgraded asap as imo they were pretty pants & the cost is going up €100 so it'd be good to sort it at that price.

Hi all

Got a trip over end of May and first timers there.....4 of us. obviously been researching hard too but a few things I wanted to find out if anyone has experience please?

1. Spawning
2. We have pegs on the deepest part of lake not sure this is good for a hot weather part of the year???
3. Driving through Belgium Germany and Liechtenstein to avoid tolls?
4. Is €400 per person the going rate without food of have we been stitched up LOL..?? Been reading a few places stating €50 per swim per day so big differences!
5. Bait boats....allowed??

Seems pellet and PVA bags plus spodding are top methods here...?

Thanks peeps.

morning ,

quick answer to a couple of your questions

fish are all over the lake generally and move around in shoals

price seems correct for this year.

pellet and spodding definitely the going method ,

bait boats only allowed for lake exclusive weeks,

if you want any further info please PM me

I am back there next April

cheers

Hi mate, good luck in your coming trip

From what I've heard spawning can last anywhere from April all the way to end of June as the climate is so hot, the fish will spawn many times throughout the spring/summer so I wouldn't worry to much as there will always be fish feeding that have either finished spawning or as yet to spawn.

The price thing is a sore subject as on my trip other European anglers were paying much less than me & even then it varied. My Austrian friend payed €50 less & a group of young Germans who turned up & payed on the day a staggering €100 less. Don't worry to much though as your paying the standard “English rate”

It is absolutely stuffed with fish so I'm sure you will have a good trip

Also I think that spombing bits gets more takes but possibly a much smaller stamp of fish on average (loads of doubles & low twenties), fishing over a scattering of boilies etc might be slower going but seems to get much bigger fish on average (this is just what I've seen so don't treat it as gospel)

I'm sure you'll have a belter regardless 👍

Wondering if they mite shut down the shallow part of the lake around spawning expected tine. A few people have mentioned this..... pays your money takes your chance on the spawning anyhow

That surprises tbf but maybe that's when they expect the spawning to be at its peak I guess, either way it's good.
I just assumed they didn't bother as I no of two people who were both down that end whilst they were spawning, one was late April & the other was july.

It's only 7 & 9 that are really in the deeper part tbf mate, the rest are all in same sort of depth that dominates most the lake apart from the corner of coarse.
I can only vouch for what I have seen & pegs 3,4,5,6 all did good fish whilst I was there. Simple tactics of fishing where the fish were showing pretty much, no big casts anywhere on the lake so easy fishing.......pegs 7,8,9 were empty so can't comment but I watched an Italian chap in peg 10 play what looked possibly the biggest fish in the lake for half hour only for the hook to pull at his mates 3rd attempt at netting it!! 😱
He was literally crying after 😅

Best thing you could do is ask as much as poss when you get there, seems to always change the way it fishes almost weekly so any advice given now might be useless anyway 👍

Biggest bit of advice I can give you is if your not on them & they seem to be holding up elsewhere then don't wait around to long to move if you can...... seems standard I no but on Parco at that time of year YOU WILL get bites if your on them so don't waste to much time hoping they'll appear!!.....

Hi m8, just on my way home, I ended up with 18 carp to 62lb 😊😊 was a great weeks fishing but had to work my ass off the last few days as it was tough fishing, weather was up and down and not many fish coming out. The usual fish pegs 15/16/17 were just the same,, bagging up, but the rest of the lake just produced 1 or 2 fish per angler, peg 22 did 10 fish,, I enjoyed it very much, but found out they are increasing the cost for a weeks fishing from 400€ to 550€ per angler 😩😩, if anyone had any questions regarding travel routes tolls etc give me a shout and I will help if I can 👍🏻

Congratulations on a top weeks fishing mate, a 60+ is a monster fish from any country!!
I might pick your brain about travel one evening if that's ok as I flew last time but am driving over this year.
Did you find that 15/16/17 seemed to do more fish but the rest of the lake produced the bigger ones? On mine & friends trips it seems that was the case in general, I had a crazy amount of fish with only four over 40 from peg 15 but others around the lake had around 10-20 fish with many over 40 & 50

I was there in mid July mate, I caught plenty of fish but very small average sizes 20-30lb. Others in swims 3/4/5 & 11/12 caught less fish but much higher averages whilst I was there & the same goes for lads I no that were there in September. Obviously I'm not saying big fish don't come from the corner pegs but sometimes you can be on pasty duty is all.

Thanks 👍🏻 Was a tough week for all on the lake, 17/16 was as you say bagging on the smaller fish with the odd 50,,, rest of the lake was pinching odd bite here and there, the drive there was a nightmare as we went through Switzerland, they traffic control all the tunnels, it's crazy, However on the way home we took the mont blonc tunnel to Geneva and that was much better route, we made it back to calais in 12 1/2 hrs and we stopped for lunch, only downside was the toll costs 180€ 😩

With regards to the travel it does sound crazy how these tunnels are regulated, are you saying that the mont blonc route is 180 each way mate?

It might be slightly cheaper because you can buy a return ticket through mont blonc, but yes it will be nearly 180€. Each way, and on top of that there is a price increase to fish the lake of 150€ a week! Making this adventure rather pricey, I would say inc bait and fuel, crossing etc £1200+

Yes I was hit with the extra €150 price myself mate, if I'm honest I dont really think the facilities warrant it as they are ridiculously basic. I was more than a little surprised to see the new swim 7 being built yet swims 16/17 & particularly 15 are so treacherous.......
I think the price of the tolls will probably stop me going that route tbh, can I ask what the price was roughly to go the Swedish way?

Hi Darren I got peg 13, nothing for 2 nights so moved to 22
Peg 14 are on about 30 fish so far with bait boat
Peg 7 are have a lot of fish and have the whole of that end of the lake covered using rowing boa
Peg 4 has had a few
That about all I know.
Tonight will be my last night. And sadly doubt I will return as I think 550 is too much
Was looking forward to this trip following a great one end of may but it has bin difficult..... but hey that's fishing.

I knew them fish were holding in front of 14 mate so i'm Not surprised they've had 30 fish, that guy in there last week just didn't get his tactics right, hope the move to 22 pays off for you, I fancy you bagging a lump from there mate 👍🏻

Did you manage to find anything out regarding booking la vigne feuillete? I wanna fish this place this year if I can find out how to book

I think the Switzerland route was about 100€ but the traffic is mental, I think if I ever went back I would go the Germany/Austria route but do a b&b half way across, it's about 3hrs longer drive but no tolls

I'm going to return the Austria route so will let you know what it's like
There are a few tolls in Austria but only about 8 euros and says only 1 hour longer

Be lucky if you can get on la vigne feuillet as she dont like English booking, but if you have any luck and it's in a school holiday I'm up for it.
Will send you name of the other Italian lake.

Hi all drove back yesterday
Left lake at 8am and got to ferry at 1am
I went via Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, Belgium and France
Total toll cost 20 Euro
Miles 825
That route could be done a lot quicker if 2 drivers as I was on my own and only cruised at 70 on motorway.
I also encountered delays with rock fall, crash and the German police pulling me over.
One tip us make sure you get to Austria in daylight as roads are a bit hairy but stunning views

Cheers for all the travel info guys, sounds like germany/Austria is probably the best route then... way cheaper on tolls & no major queuing at the tunnels.
So just to be clear, we're the tolls just standard pay as you go that route or was it the sticker in the window type?

You do now mate yes, as is 1-7-9 also.
I would never book 16 as double either imo, it was tight before they had made all the changes but now they've mad it an even smaller swim & somehow expect 6 rods to fit in

We're looking at 17 as a double, but even that doesn't look overly spacious.

Suppose it's one way of moving the fish about by filling the bay with lines.

I agree with mr brightside mate, you could get away with it in 17 but I wouldn't say it was exactly comfortable for 6 rods, I'd imagine a few crossed lines would be the norm. 16 is never big enough for 6 although I've seen it done.
If you do end up in 17 just make sure you give them some beans if they try & go right side margin as there's a sunken tree and all the lumps head straight for it 👍👍

Would be nice if it was empty though.. I take it there are swims kept free incase you fancy a move?

*Heads up to anyone going parco in 2019*
The fishing has been tricky for most anglers this year all over the lake but especially impossible in the bay swims for most, no doubt the removing of the trees has had a huge knock on effect but most probably also way too much bait going in at the same time. talking to anglers all season & everyone says the same, the bay is in a bad day way atm, I'd say since April 75% of anglers that could move, have all left the bay for another swim, my party included.
Just heard (July) that rotten baits are floating up & slicks coming from what must be old beds of bait in there.
Not trying to put a downer on anyone who's got a trip booked but better to know what's going on & be prepared. My advice, obvious but DONT put large beds of bait out unless the fish are having it & most importantly speak to anglers via FB & at the lake to see what's going on..... dont believe what your possibly getting told by the management

I'm there in September . May be it makes the lake less swimmy ( that was the plan ) and gives every one a better chance of getting on the fish . Might sort the men from the boys and make you angle for them rather than just piling the bait in

Early days but so far this year it hasn't really changed anything for other swims apart from make the bay almost impossible to have a decent result from & keep most the fish stacked up Infront of 7&9. Think it'll be the next couple of years that shows the true changes as this year the fish are obviously trying to find a new routine.

Who have you spoken to mate to get that info? I know a good few people that have been this year including myself & 21/20/18 haven't done anywhere near the usual numbers for them, infact the general thought from all is that the fish are reluctant to even come over the bar into the area for the most part. I know some decent anglers have been out in 20 this week & couldn't buy a bite until later in the week but did manage a good number in the end & the lads in the bay even went to go fish at ghost park it was that dead

Yes mate it's all completely gone now from the side of 16 all the way around to 15, the reeds have started to grow over there already though so I'd imagine within a couple of seasons it'll be looking nice & hopefully the carp will feel abit safer over there

I was there in April and fished 16 and had 11 fish ( biggest 61 ) but boy was it hard work . All bites , bar one , came in the dark and in the margins . 17 and 20 fish ok and they had about 15 fish each from memory . Rest of the swims were patchy

Sounds like you did well in there then by all accounts it seems to have got worse as the seasons gone on in the bay, if I was to guess I'd say it must be the amount of bait going in whilst the fishing has been so slow. Literally mouldy boilies floating up from the bottom atm out there which is never a good sign.
I'm out there September as well mate, what week you back out?

Was out at Parco back at the beginning of may, followed on from the free spirit lads.
They had a really tough week symion bond said it was the worst week he had had in all his years there didn't put us in the greatest of confident moods seeing as it was our first time.
Week started off slow and for may the weather was **** for first few days rain at 1 point for 24hrs solid.
But that said we end the week on near 50 fish between 3 of us peg 1 (double) and peg 22, 2 60lb 3 58/59lb there rest mainly between 35 and 50lb
A leather which I'm told are rare out
And the mandatory surgeons 4 up to 65lb
We knew 2 other guys that were fishing there and they had fish to 60lb as well
Also met 1 guy out here again fish to 60lb
Worked out a awesome week for us may well have been lucky but the fish were defiantly there to be seen both visually in the bay (peg22) and crashing evening onwards most days
Booked up again for next year
Hope this helps a little giving people an idea of the place

1 thing to note as of 2020 the prices for both drive and survive and full lake bookings are going up quite considerably

All in all though a very memorable trip

Tight lines all

Hi all.
Slight change of subject. Going in June without food package. First time on long foreign session. Was wondering what you did for food. Apparently there are shops/takeaways locally. Also weather can get very hot so how do you keep things (drinks, food, etc) cold for any length of time.
Thanks

sounds a great trip mate. Get a good cool box. use the search as there is a topic on them somewhere. Some of the boxes will keep Ice as Ice for days on end. just don't keep opening it up and let the cold escape.

I would get 2 boxes though one for food and one for drinks. But depending on space and budgets its up to you. I take it you are driving down there?

take some things already frozen for the first couple of days. Then when you pop out to the shops get some ice to keep it topped up and cool.

That will sort you out for a week.

Hi mate,
No need to worry about food. There are two supermarkets 10 minutes drive from the lake (one small, one big). You can also order a pizza from a lovely small local restaurant for just a few euros. Just let Antonio or a bailiff know what time and it will be waiting for you at the lodge.
Antonio also keeps his freezer stocked up with water, fizzy drinks and ice cream... I strongly recommend the frozen water at that time of year.

What peg are you in?

Forgot to say. Peg 13 (unlucky for some!!).

Anyone fished it? So any tips for that swim or just general for the lake.

Have watched all videos on YouTube and there is a lot of differing techniques (Solid PVA bags, method, all boilie) with mixed results, but I suppose that's fishing!

Hi guys,

Me and a mate are supposed to be fishing Parco del Brenta this summer... yeah, we still have some hope.
We have pegs 11 and 12, can anyone provide any indication regarding those two spots? Are they decent? Any "hotspots" per say? We've never fished there so any information is extremely appreciated!

Thank you!
