Hi Everyone,
We're heading out in a couple of weeks and we've not been since 2019.
Has anyone been here lately? I'm guessing that with the recent rainfall that it should definitely be nicely topped up!
Any info would be very welcome!
Thanks in advance.

Hi there.

We're not heading there this year, as we needed a water to comfortably accommodate 9 or 10 anglers and unfortunately Meillant wouldn't be suitable.
Are you heading back this year?

Hi mate, seems a distant memory now, we struggled a bit only 4 of us but moved around to try and keep the fish moving the water level seemed to be down about 4/5 foot , we had about50 fish between us it was still 28/30 degrees as well ☀️☀️, biggest 48 smallest 14 , we also had 2 80lb cat fish but also had about 10/15 other cats between 2lb -30lb probably about 10 under 6lb 🙄 ,,, were going back later in the year next year so hopefully water levels are up 🙏👍

Thanks that’s great, we struggled at chalet last year , about 40 fish , between 4 of us , let’s hope for some rain There’s same 4 going in a few weeks, do u think that’s enough for the size of the water ,

Hi mate.
We had a tricky week compared to recent years, to be honest.
I think the very high temperatures that occured the week before our trip was a big contributor to it not fishing as well ( The bailiff said they had 3 consecutive days of temps between 41 and 43 degrees Celsius).
The whole region has suffered a very dry winter and subsequently the water level was very low in comparison to previous years. This resulted in us having to fish from the bank rather than the platforms in order for us to safely land and return the fish. We also chose not to fish the top pond as it looked devoid of activity when we arrived and certainly for the following 3 days before they started crashing up there. Between 6 of us we had about 90 fish. The first year we went we had over 240!
With regard to driving around the lake, you can get to all of the main swims down one side. However there are 2 swims on the opposite side that you won't be able to drive to. But don't let that put you off, as I gather they can be very productive.
Let me know how you get on.

I believe some guys have just come back and had a good week (its on the FB Page) and putting a video together, they did a video for chalet lake last year and was decent quality so should be informative.

Thanks mate.
We've fished it a couple of times before with good success, so I'm just trying to suss out out how it's been fishing this year, as there isn't any info or any reports as to how well it's been producing.
Just praying that there won't be another french heatwave with 40+ degree daytime temps.
Thanks again!
