Boxing tv (Dan Hewitt) is interviewing Vinny Paz at 9.30pm on YouTube. This is the guy who fought back from a broken neck to a work title and whose inspiration led to the hit movie (bleed for this).

Canelo Alvarez is to face John Ryder next on Saturday 6th May 2023. The fight will take place at Estadio Akron, Zapopan, Mexico. The fight will be shown on DAZN Global in the UK

Wouldn't it be brilliant if Ryder went out and beat him in his own back yard though? Unlikely I know, but JR is a tough man, you never know.

yes I agree it would be amazing

but this match is in front of his passionate fans to put on a show after his recent defeat
and its expected to be a a one sided fight and ESPECIALLY as its his first
fight in his home country for the first time in more than 11 years !!! Mexican pride and all that

BUT this is boxing and unlikely things can and do happen sometimes and OMG wouldnt it be great if the upset happened

Buatsi performance was very disappointing ok he won but looked very average

and Canelo could not put on the knockout show that was expected

John Ryder was amazing losing on points took everything Canelo had and forced him to the distance losing on points
but seemed to me Canelo had lost a lot of his head movement and on that showing I cant see him beating Bivol ?
who he called out after the fight
saying he wants the rematch with Dmitry Bivol as his next fight in September. Canelo says he wants the Bivol bout at 175 lbs under the same terms as the last time they fought in May 2022
just cant see him beating Bivol ?

100% agree about Lauren Price hard as nails also love the way she's always boxing on the front foot 🥊
As for Buatsi he looked proper ring rusty needs to up his game massively and fight real soon not leave it another 12 months

I didn't see it but I keep an eye on him, he looks a class act but I was wondering how long it was before he reached his level or was it just a one off, will have to have a look. There's quite a few fighters around that weight now that produce some very good fights imho. TBH, can't see anybody coming close to Bivol for a while, solid boxing skills.

Isn't Smith down to be fighting Beterbiev next, hope it happens, tricky fight but I hope Smith wins

Hopefully sets up a fight with Bivol, saying that Canelo is wanting that in September listening to his post fight interview with Ryder
