I have used it for a couple of seasons including on the river in France. Really like its good value, seems like a neutral buoyancy, which i like as I prefer it to sit over weed rather then bed in. It's a bit course so could be harsh on rod rings, but I like it as it seems to cut through weed. When fishing into heavy weed I haven't found anything better. Also I like the camo effect seems to make it blend in more compared with a solid colour braid.

I have the wide system I brought it on a whim on Christmas day for a steal from the Tacklehub on ebay got it for £195 delivered as no one else seemed to be bidding on Xmas day. I have 2 other bedchairs a old JRC terry hearn stealth which i have had for must be 20 years, a compact trakker one both are great for mobile angling in the summer as much lighter, but the wide solar one is super comfortable with the extra room in the winter when I tend to fish more comfortable lakes/swims. Can't really see that there will be much to go wrong with it the spring loaded legs are great very easy to use. I thought at first 1 leg at the head end would be unstable but it's been fine out on the 6 or so individual nights I have been out on it. It is firm in the middle section, but I need that with my back but maybe could be too firm for those that like it softer.

I first had a set of these 20 odd years ago had them for 15 years and always regretted selling them. Decided to buy a brand new set as got a deal from Total fishing tackle. Anyway come to put line on them and in the box they come with 5 spool washers in a bag. I cannot remember if I needed to add any of these, for some reason I think I did add one before and they were perfect. Don't really want to be filling one up to find out then have to take it all off again. If anyone knows whats best, should I add one or not add any at all? Thanks.

I have had these for about 18 months now. I have been getting around 4 months out of mine using for 24hrs a week that's just using cheap amazon batteries. I have actually just decided to give the lithium ones a go to see how they fair, but being just standard 3aaa's I always just keep a spare set on me as they fit my head torch as well anyway. Think they are amazing alarms for the money really that's after using delkims for years, I could have any alarms I want but these do everything I need.

I am really fussy about my hooks, to me I have found the best have a certain angle from the parallel point to the eye. Not too open gape just enough to improve hooking and ***** in the first place, but I believe the more closed the gape the better they will stay in once they have found a purchase. To me the ideal is a bit of a balance between the two. I used to love the esp raptor long shanx, but they are hard to get hold of now. Take a look at the IB hooks long shanks very simular but even sharper (the standard eruo-range). I have found them to be perfect and have a really hard point that stays sharp even when fishing on the bottom over gravel.

Thanks for the replies. The Wychwood looks good has it got carbon or metal spokes?

I'm looking for the best lightweight brolly currently available. I have both a aqua fast and light and a nash groundhog. The fast and light I heavier and smaller with metal poles and the nash groundhog is larger with carbon fibre poles and to me is my preferred brolly. They are both however getting on and starting to leak. To me it would be simple if the nash groundhog was still a available to just get another one as it is everything you could want in a brolly being so light and very strong. It also lasted me a good 6 plus years bring used every week before it has started to leak around the central boss and I just can't seem to be able to seal it. The fast and light was a impulse buy as I saw it cheap. It is ok just a bit too small to fit everything under comfortably, heavier compared to the groundhog and despite less use has started to leak along the seams. I am also not a fan of metal spokes as I had a old jrc brolly years ago that bent up in the wind and was never right again after. Although I was out in a gale with the thing getting flattened while I tried to hold it down at 3am. I am not interested in other types tempest's etc as I has a pioneer ultralite for winter (it's anything but ultralite! it's like lifting a body in and out of the car compared with a brolly).

I use them on chod rigs where I have a string of leadcore to hold them down. Brilliant pop ups some great well proven and trusted attractors. They are just as many have said over buoyant for some rigs. I would use them all the time but find I go to less buoyant pop up for lower presentations due to needing less putty to hold them down. I think if Kevin did some that where more spinner/ronnie rig friendly (less buoyant) or maybe even wafters they would be a real hit as the flavour and attractor profiles are spot on.

I shot at a lead free clay ground and the guy there was telling me that a lot of their skeet shooting members now shoot steel even when at grounds they can use lead. Their reasoning was the lighter steel shot cartridges had a higher shot count when compared with the same gram load of lead cartridge. This they said gave them a fuller pattern.
On the other hand I have also heard that it can take more steel shot to break a clay as they can punch cleanly straight through, where as lead deforms more and is more likely to smash the clay.
Can't say I noticed much difference myself really seemed to break the clays all the same, but as others have said you need to be careful what guns steel is used in.
Are you sure?
