I just saw another thread that was asking about river fishing and it brought back some fond memories so I grabbed a few photos to post, mainly for my own viewing pleasure (as I never bother posting photos on here or Facebook normally)
Anyone else who has some river photos, please share...I might start river fishing again this coming June
Sometimes the wildlife could get annoying. I never had any runs this particular evening...
The reason I stopped my regular river visits was because the farmer stopped vehicles going across the fields.
Driving to the swim made life easy...
...not needing a bivvy made life even easier!
Rods folded in the morning and thrown in onto the beds along with bank sticks / net, then off to work for the day
Pond escapologist? or thrown in by someone when it outgrew it's tank?
A surprise 16lb+ carrot
Managed this one twice, he (I think) grew a pound each time I saw him caught (so roughly once a year)
Caught from a pre-baited spot, this one had been munching!

No photos but my biggest memory is when i was Barbelling down the Wey and managed to cast my Pure Move radio into the river. Managed to catch the nipple on the ariel with a size 8!

Yes, although I put some better racking in it for storing carpy bits and bobs so I always have certain stuff in the van (clothing, spare stabilised bait, food, water etc etc...nothing of huge value, but handy to have in case you run out of something during a trip)
Also I clipped the rear bench seat back in once I stopped using the van as a bivvy.

I used to love fishing the river when I lived in Southampton,fortunately it was a 15 walk for me with no fishing gear but a lot more with lol,I had some good catches on the itchen including a 22lb pike on a krill soaked boilie and loads of fish of varying sizes and looks ,some proper warriors too and saw a few funny things along the way like people falling in drunk or just swimming in november(yikes too cold 🥶

Never caught the 20plus ghost or that was in there or even the 16lb plus barbel as well.
But yeah loved the fishing if I knew how to post pictures on here I'd share some,they are not monster fish but still decent as I fished all way through winter as cold as -5 and still caught.
