Entertaining videos with some very funny bits and some huge fish landed. Interesting that they all appeared to be using similar rigs!
As for the type of fishing personally I don't think it's my cup of tea. I wouldn't fish with 4 rods when you have to go out in a boat to stand any chance of landing a fish safely. Even 8 rods between 2 doubled up in a swim looks like you stand a good chance at some time of having to leave a fish to run unattended (with a bloody great barbed hook in its mouth and 80lb leader).
Also what about the bit where he leaves the rod tightened up and hope it tires itself out because it was too dangerous to go out in the boat in a storm? Surely if it's too dangerous to land a fish safely you get your baits out of the water?
I know that the anglers concerned are far more experienced in that sort of fishing than me and I fully expect to get flamed by other forum members but as I said, not for me.
If I'm not confident that I can land a fish safely then I won't fish for it. That goes for choice of venue as well as choice of swim. Not that I would ever get the opportunity to fish Rainbow.

Abuse no not at all , it's different strokes for different folks , I bet if most anglers on here were doing a vid of their exploits then they would be open to criticism .

Rods are Fox Warrior 3.5IbTC, compound action compared with most.
Am looking forward to fishing with Dave Whibley, have known and fished with him at Darenth and Harrow in the 80's, top angler, he don't say much but with a few drinks will prise his secrets :-)

Interestingly I'm pretty sure I photographed a 45-50lb catfish 20+ years ago at Wintons for Jim Lightfoot. He struck me as a really nice guy back then. Good to see he hasn't changed!

I could tell by the accent in which you speak to some of the non British anglers on Rainbow that you had something about you
Great vids again though, and good to see you hauling on this last trip. Also - good to see you getting the angling hat back on.
Do you find after the years of the Koi keeping that it's changed anything you do with your fishing? Or are they a million miles apart in your mind?

Must admit the first time i went i felt i'm not sure i'm going to enjoy this type of fishing but i went and i was hooked i love the style of fishing and the lake itself is mind boggling i have fished many venues in france but for what i want from my own fishing rainbow is streets ahead what i mean by that is the expectation levels before you go and the buzz you get whilst your there only wish i could fish it more often but thats life
so if you get the oppertunity then give it a go you never know you might love it aswell

you ought to raffle of a trip with you £5 a ticket youd sell loads
thanks again and agree with horses for courses, not my kind of fishing but for a week it would be fabulous think most of us separate our foreign and uk fishing in our minds anyway
