Just checked easyjet website and unfortunately they don't do many budget flights from Damascus. Especially if you cant book online because your WiFi hasn't worked since your house got blown up...
And of course you just need to keep your fingers crossed that there are no missile strikes closing the airport while you're in the duty free shop...

Just checked an atlas, and no parts of Damascus are in europe.
And how many safe countries do you pass through on your journey from damascus, to the french coast, before jumping in the dinghy? Maybe they want to come here for the weather?

Rwanda is lovely this time of year, load them up fly them out 👍🏼
Accor hotels, French owned doing very well out of the asylum seekers and the British tax payer, so well the home office want to put them in ships....

As I mentioned earlier, Johnny had it right. While you lot are worrying about the lie that it's those nasty illegals that are to blame for all the problems in the country, companies like serco and their tory mates are laughing all the way to their offshore accounts...

Not sure why these threads, always turn into petty squabbles between the 2 extreme sides of the fence. Rather than try and understand everyone has opinions, and they are entitled to said opinions, it results in having little swipes at anyone who isnt in their camp.

To be fair it's right what you are saying but it's not been so bad lately since some members were banned. Seemed to me they only came on here to be experts with superiorly complexes in Non Carp with nothing to say about fishing.
Now they are gone it's more to do with banter and micky taking and I'm sure both sides can both give it and take it. If it constantly goes beyond that then I'm sure there will be another thinning down of memberships.

Maybe because instead of posting about serco you felt the need to start commenting on what a 'Proper asylum seeker' is and the silly comment about £30 flights.

I'm in agreement with you that we should be doing more for asylum seekers and war refugees. It seems I'd go further than you and that's a difference of opinion.
Tinhead is right. There are some who will use non carp as an excuse for other agendas. Maybe people would see me as that because I choose to challenge what I see as some nasty underlying attitudes. I can ignore the repeated personal digs. There's a line and if it's crossed then the mods can take appropriate action. These threads all too often become an echo chamber for the 'bloody immigrants ' comments and that quickly turns into more unsavoury posts.
Let's stick to serco and the fact that they're clearly a company with some serious questions to be asked, but still being given lucrative government contracts. Currently its tory government contracts so thats what i refer to. Im under no illusion that a different government could do the same. I think we are in agreement on that too.

The asylum seeker conversation was underway, commented on by yourself, before i joined in. The discussion had gone that way. I didnt realise that the conversations werent allowed to evolve and that only the subject matter in the title was allowed to be discussed.
And questioning why someone pays £5000 to be smuggled in a dinghy from france, rather than pay £30 to fly, is a valid question, not a silly comment.

Plenty of cheap flights from Albania ( where a large percentage are coming from ), yet they choose to fork out £000s. No passports or documentation needed via a boat. Must have something to hide to choose that route. 🤔

Absolutely these individuals clearly have a chequered past.
I see the plan to use a barge to house 500 male migrants off Dorset coast, a sensible precaution.
