Can anyone recommend a good fish finder?

I have been looking at the Garmin Striker Vivid 7sv.

Mainly want it for feature finding.

I went with the Raymarine Element HV as its close to what I know with my RT7 bait boat.

It's very good only thing letting it down is the non touch screen. But for feature finding it's fantastic with it's high frequency down scan and real vision

Thanks for that.
The clarity looks fantastic.
Not too bothered about a touch screen because they just get filthy from fingerprints. 😀
Do you have the 7 inch screen?

I have had both the 7 and the 9. The 7 is plenty big enough even when you split it to sonar, down vision, side scan and real vision. There is some good videos on Youtube to help you set it up with gain etc to get the best out of the unit. It is very good. I have seen actual carp and cat on it where you can clearly see what it is.

Like all these sonars you have to buy maps which gets you a year free premium subscription where you can download google maps etc. After the year expire not worth taking out any more as you will still have all the maps and pin points. IMO not worth the extra money

EDIT: See below picture I took of the difference in size between the 7 and the 9 " version. The 7 for me is much more compact on an rib inflatable and plenty big enough. Anything bigger really meant for bigger boats

Thanks for the information.

I’ve been on YouTube most of the day comparing the Raymarine, Garmin and Hummingbird models.

It’s a minefield. 😂

Lol I do not think you can go wrong with any of the big named brands in all honesty. Just depends what features you are more interested in as some do better in certain categories. Also budget comes in to play.

For me I just went with what I know for ease of use and very happy with my purchase.

What is your budget?

That is the most important question
