Hi guys, over the last year or so Iv finally sorted out my fishing camera . I’m now getting decent pictures , I have a little bit of an upgrade needed in the lighting department but nothing major . I have now decided I want to take things a step further and start filming my catches and potentially other bits whilst I’m out .

This is territory i know nothing about , I had an old go pro which is still working but when Iv looked at the quality of the footage it produced I’m not happy with it. If I’m going to go to the effort of filming it needs to be half decent quality . Are there any action cameras which will produce decent footage or do I need to look at something else ?

Any suggestions?

I’ve never filmed anything fishing wise but I use a DJI omso pocket 1 for family videos and chasing the kids around. Amazing bit of kit, image quality is decent, it’s stabilised, battery life is good the thing is so small you barely notice it’s in your pocket.

They can be had for like £100 second hand. The only thing it may struggle with is noise on filming at night.

I did look at those , how easy would it be to set one of those up for filming when Iv caught one ? Example , camera will be taking photos set up on a bank stick , I’m thinking of setting the video up next to it . Can they be attached to anything ?

If you know someone with a 3d printer or have one yourself I’m sure there will be a hot shoe or a tripod mount for dead cheap. Third party or even DJI mounting options should exist but you’ll pay a premium.

Never tried this but it’s that light I’d imagine even some blue tack on a bucket could quite easily hold it up.
