I see it more often in Youtube videos about English waters that they are a deep blue colour. At first I thought this is some kind of weird video editing to make the water look more interesting but searching through here I see some older post mentioning its use for algae control.

This baffles me as I have never seen this anywhere here on the continent being done so I wonder - as the post about dyed lakes are older - is that something that has gotten more common in the UK compared to a few years ago?

Do you know paylakes in Central Europe that do it or is it UK only?

Is there a restriction as to which waters benefit from it and size wise? I would guess its quite cost intensive to dye a big gravel pit deep blue...

It's done to control weed growth, nothing at all to do with astheict,purposes..

Dyofix is such a product used..or similar
