Search for Atropa Atrotubes
Have been using one of these for more than 10 years.
They a god send when fishing large waters, from a boat as they give you are permanent marker.
You have to deploy them from the boat, so once you have found your spot, you can set them up depending on depth by adding sections to get the right depth, so the extendable top section will show above the water.
You will need buy or make at least a pound weight to connect it to.
The poles then connect to to this by means of a split ring, so it hinges at the bottom.
When a fish runs with your line, the pole leans over and the line just runs off it.
It is also a good indication the fish are feeding on you spot as they seem to like to crash into it, causing the marker pole to move around,fun to watch.
Not sure you need the illuminated type, did play with an LED bulb, but seemed a bit pointless as you can see it with your headtorch when going out in the boat.
One word of warning, they do like to bend if the get too hot, if they are not stored fully supported and out of the sun, they will distort.
This doesn't make them unuseable, it just annoying the they are not straight, maybe my OCD (obsesive curve disorder)
