But now after catching 3 fish on a lake where everyone else blanked as my presentation was "walked out" to some overhanging trees which were otherwise un-castable I'm slowly changing my mind.
So potentially thinking about a compact \ small bait boat
Something well designed which drops from a central bay and dosnt flip from a rear hopper
Deffo second hand.

I picked up a Ridgemonkey boat 2nd hand and that's pretty small. One central hopper and Ridgemonkey stuff tends to be well designed.

Another vote for Vulcan or the mini version
Future carping intrepid (made by ripton) is decent. The basic boat without GPS. Had mine a couple of years now.
Compact, very good battery life, good in rough conditions, decent size top loading hopper and single handed remote, decent lights, fast and quiet and turns on a sixpence.
Performed really well on French trips, battery lasts ages. No nonsense, solid boat.

Only one real option and thats a mk2 vulcan
It may be worth considering a ND2 (try for a v3)/NDS. A really solid boat that allows you to unlock autopilot and/or add in sonar at a later date.
Appreciate you have mentioned cheap but not an actual budget so this may be more than you want to spend but it is at the lower end of boats.

Someone who is upgrading perhaps..
Not something i plan on using regularly.
Generally if i cant cast there i aint fishing there just very occasionally very useful to reach those hotspots otherwise unreachable.
