I've bodged a tip eye repair with candle wax to hold in place until I can get the right stuff to do it properly.

Is Seymo hot melt glue the right stuff to stick a top eye back on with or a different brand type of glue stick?

Hot melt glue is an easy fix but not reliable. It can soften too much in hot weather.
Use a two part epoxy, like araldite original, leave overnight to set.
Araldite rapid can also do it, but it dried more yellow than the original that dries clear.
