Can anyone tell me if these will find clear patches in a weedy shallow lake...im struggling to see why I need a pro or pro plus if these show silt, weed and hard bottom..

Yes it will work no problem.
It's biggest limitation is range about 50m
Great on boat for a bit of lure fishing finding bait balls etc.
But its range from the bank is not great and if you have power lines near / over the lake next to useless

Range can also be phone or tablet dependant.
I used a range extender.
