As a third set of alarms I have a 3+1 Sonik Gizmo 2 Set.

Unfortunately these are quite wobbly because the base stem does not sit tight in the housing. Too much play or not properly glued in.
I have had this problem with several other indicators as well e.g. ATTs and even Delkims etc..

Seems to be a rather common problem and no idea why they cant get it right.

Anyway it seems I cannot access the point where the base thread/stem is fixed because everything in the Gizmo 2s seems to be sealed.
With the ATTs I could open them and glue them with 2-component glue which worked well.

Any idea what I could do or how to open these? As usual no reply from the Sonik service.

Thinking about switching to other indicators e.g. the Fox Mini Micron X.
Are these better in this respect.

Probably with them being waterproof they've had to design the case as such.

Took them two weeks to reply to me on a mail.

Stick to the main alarm brands

Can you add a shallow nut to tighten it up? My old soniks were like this but had 2 nuts on and a o ring, so it was easy to tighten it up.

you mean tighten it up towards the case? If yes, wouldnt that put too much stress on the case?

A simple way to secure the threads into the body of the alarm is to use "Q-Bond", basically you get two big bottles of superglue and two small bottles of powder, one powder is for repairing plastic and the other powder is for repairing metal. I have been using it for years to repair all sorts of things. You can but it from "Automart" type shops and I see B&Q sell it, but its rocketted up in price?

All you do is put a small amount of powder around what needs to be repaired, add a drop of superglue, and keep repeating the process untill you have repaired or fixed what the problem was. But ensure what you are repairing is in the correct position, usually I just stick it with superglue to start with to hold it in position, and then do the repair

Once its dry within a minute or two and it will dry hard as rock, virtually impossible to break the repair, just file the repair down to look smooth if your not happy with ithe repair. It would only take a bit.

Alternatively for a cheaper way, just buy some superglue and some baking powder, it will work the same way.

Yeah, you shouldn't need loads of pressure, just finger tight it to steady the alarm head.
