I have a silly expensive head torch with the battery pack so I can re charge. About four years ago it would t take a charge (only gets used on holiday sessions) so I thought I would buy another battery pack but at £40 it seemed madness.
I went on YouTube and there was some lunatic from Oklahoma who did a video explaining that not often used rechargeable batteries won't take a charge (and in my case flash red) because there is not enough power in the pack to recognise the charger. So you wire up (or hold) a pp3 battery onto the pack terminals for about 30 seconds, where wizardry happens, it puts enough power into the pack so when you charge it goes red and accepts the charge.
Tonight was my 3rd year anniversary of rescuing my battery pack I still can't believe it works but it does. Anything with an easy to get to terminal +/- works, drill batteries the lot.
