After some opinions on the 13ft Treb lite. Currently using tx2 intensity. Had lesson etc and not seeing much improvement now. Has anyone got experience of the 2 and do you feel there would be much advantage with the trebuchet lite please?

They're a beefy rod and like all Harrisons (I think), an overfit joint so they have some flex. They are hefty but can be used by reasonably competent casters to reach the distances required, if required. I'd say ideally they work best around the 4oz mark for optimum casting but that's just my experience, I'm sure others have wanged out bigger leads with comparative ease. I have a pair for more specialised purposes but much prefer a lighter TC where I can get away with it.

What do you need your Tx2 or Treb-lite to do or achieve ?

I have to mirror what Paul said.
I had a set of Trebuchet lites, nice casting tools, but didn't like them for sub 100 yards, normal range fishing, using smaller leads under 3.5 to 4oz.

Thanks for the replies. Swims are very restricted and deep margins so can't wade easily and not able to step into a cast. Currently only managing about 120yds with tapered mono and rig etc. If I could get another 15-20yds it opens up the opportunity to fish a few extra features.
Undoubtedly I can improve my technique but was interested on opinions as to distance improvements with the stiffer rod. Basically looking for a fast fix.

I have a set of Treb lites among other rods.

They are fairly weighty and fast actioned but have a nice tip section which makes casting and playing fish nice.

They cast well but have no experience of your other rods

A stiffer rod needs a good technique where as sometimes a slightly softer 13ft rod which is easier to compress can suit a caster with a not so good technique

Another rod to look at is the free spirit hi s ive 13ft - I really rate these as a do anything tool - not ridiculously stiff but puts a lead a long way but has enough softness to fish at closer ranges

Treb Lites are lovely rods for fishing over 100 yards, easy to compress for long range work and still feel a nice fishing rod.

Not being able to step into the cast really limits my ability to compress the rod and would massively influence what rod i could get the most out of.

For your ultimate match, you need to cast a few side by side would be my opinion.
Are you sure?
