Hi all I'm thinking of buying one of theese and replacing the memory foam matress on my ss3 has anyone got any reviews on the exped mega mat?

Not that mat no, but we have the Vango Shangri-la 15 and if it's as good I'd buy with confidence. They sometimes need help inflating to what you require, they sometimes need air letting out until you get comfy. The valves really need to be kept away from debris, the cyclone valves have some bad reviews on Amazon, but we've had no problems. I think ours is 2 or 3 years old and has been used well over 100 nights without any problems. It literally is as close to a mattress as you'll get, incredibly comfy.
I've actually though of what your intending to do about 3 years ago, and my only concern was a firm enough base for the SIM. Personally I'd come to the idea of thick webbing straps if all else failed, replace bed frame with a army type aluminium one and I also looked into Decathlon SI bed frames for SIM.

I got a relativley cheap bed, Wychwood Tacticle X standard size, and a Exped Megamat 10. Very comfortable, can be inflated to your taste, doesn't move about and will fold up in the bed with the Fortis bag. I'm not exaggerating when i say it's as comfy as the £1000 mattress we have at home.

I've already got a fortis bag so will buy the same combo, my ss3 is just a pain to lug around and don't find it very comfortable

Just ordered an exped megamat 10 just got to buy a bed now, do u use both layers on your teclite or single layer? I'll be using a single layer and a korda bedchair cover. Does it fold up well?

I can get both bag layers and an Edel mayer thermal cover folded along with the mattress.
