Hi I'm on a low budget of £250 max which boatman bait boat shall I go for and what differences are there between them
Any reviews or help welcome

You don't have a lot of choice with that budget it's the actor mk4i compass

Thanks what's the difference between the mk4i and standard mk4

I think the differences between mk4 and mk4i are that the 4i has built in compass and an external on/off switch.

I have the mk4i and whilst its bait capability is fairly small, find it easy to control, battery life is fairly good and it does well when the water is choppy.

I've upgraded the props to the metal ones and added a prop guard but only because the lake I fish regularly is weedy.

Only thing I find a bit of a pain in the rear hopper not releasing all of the bait if it's damp (ie pellets with added oil/glug etc) so I don't use the rear hopper much unless I'm dropping dry bait.

It's my first boat and does me for what I need it to (helping with my old man shoulder). Well worth the price (I paid £260 ish for memory with an eBay discount code)

I had original mk4i and sold it - then got the mk4i compass as a spare boat a few years later
Different gravy - the compass variant makes a massive difference in terms of straight lining / not having to manually 'correct' all the time . . . .picked up a minter 2nd hand off FMB for £150 . .

Can't fault my compass model for the money . Love the fact it will drive itself straight for a minute or so .
