I bought the new SP C Tech a little while ago now and it's an awesome bit of kit best bed I have owned by a country mile ! I have one gripe with it that I was going to see if any of you have tried to fix yourselves and if you have had any success.
I have a tempest brolly 100 and the 400mm height on the bedchair is just too tall for me. I don't want to change the bed or the brolly so I am looking at shortening the legs on a bedchair. I have an engineer who can help but wanted to see if anyone has attempted something similar themselves or if I should just not mess about with it full stop. I'm assuming the mechanisms on the ends of the legs are push fit so if I can get them off shortening the legs and the internal leg parts shouldn't be too much of an issue.
Any experience or advice is welcome on this one.

Update:
Have successfully shortened the legs on the bedchair. Took about 3 hours after work yesterday evening and was a pretty straight forward procedure one I had figured out how to do the first one.

Hi there been thinking this myself I liked the look of these but there just so tall. Were the legs push fit them a simple case of cutting them down?

I'd like to know that too. I marked the position, put a spanner round the leg and gave it a good few whacks with a hammer. The foot mechanism moved about 2mm and wouldn't move any more, I didn't want to hit it much harder!

So you have you take off the little sprung level that operate the leg extension. there is a spring and a small screw underneath it so hold onto it while you do it so it doesn't go flying. Remove that screw and then the whole assembly can just pull off the end of the leg. Some of them pulled off easily and some I had to wack off with a rubber mallet. I think I took off 60 or 65mm from each leg by memory and it took it as low as it could go but measure how much you can take off its easy to do.

Great to know, was one of my bug bears with this bed and having a none squared back shelter
I saw a post the other day that did the same with one of the taller chairs, can't rem which one, but I guess the mechanisms are much of a muchness.
