Hi all some advice please..

Looking to move onto the Free Spirit 10ft Helical SPM Rod...

What reel / reel size would you recommend, as have some Aerlex Spod ones but they seem bit big for 10ft's..?

I use an Emblem BR25A on my 10' SPM rod . . .perfect

I use the Daiwa emblem 35 scw spod reel on my Nash scope 10ft spod rod and find it absolutely fine

okuma 6000 incs will be perfect for you.

nice & cheap, not too big & pretty hard wearing

I am using Sonik Vader X's on my Dwarf spod and marker rods. Just take off the braid that comes with them.

Same size as a 3000 Longbeam, no clutch so no need for a finger stall. I've been using one for years and never had a problem

If you're using the rod / reel as an SPM (Spod & Marker) and are swopping between the two I find a bait runner less faff when using a marker float . . .in fact its the only time (other than Barbel bashing) I find a baitrunner useful . . .

Are these any good on a conventional/ distance spod setup Scott? I've always been tempted

I've used it on a 12ft rod, casts as far as I need it to
